PART B: READING
IV. Read the passage and write true (T) or false (F) (1p)
	London, the capital of Great Britain, is situated on the Thames River. It is the largest city in Europe with a population of over eight million. It is divided into four parts: the City, Westminster, the West End and the East End.
	The City is small in area but it is the commercial heart of London. Many banks and offices are situated there. St, Paul’s Cathedral is very large and fine. It was built in 1710. The famous English architect, Christopher Wren, planned and built Sr, Paul’s Cathedral. If the City may be called the commercial heart of London, Westminster is the center of the admiration. We can see the Houses of Parliament there. It is a beautiful building with two towers and a very big clock called Big Ben. Westminster Abbey is opposite the Houses of Parliament.
	The West End with the best and most expensive clubs, restaurants and theatres, beautiful houses and parks is the place where rich people live. Working people live in the East End where there are no parks or gardens and no fine houses.

 	Last year, we had a nice holiday. My friend and I went to the seaside for a month. I had been to the seaside several times before, but this was the first time for my friend. Naturally, it was a great event for him. Finally, the day came. It was a fine morning. We got up very early because we wanted to leave home after breakfast. We made the journey by car. We reached the seaside at noon. We spent many hours on the beach. We enjoyed making castles and channels in the sand. People said we ought to spend at least a few weeks at the seaside. It we could stay longer, so much the better.
