1.Vocabulary :

-Pastime (n) trò tiêu khiển, sự giải trí

( vietnamese meaning)

-(to) swim: bơi lội

-(to) play badminton: chơi cầu lông

-(to) jog :chạy bộ

-(to) do aerobics: tập thể dục nhịp điệu

-(to) skip : chơi nhảy dây

-(to) play table tennis: chơi bóng bàn

-(to) play soccer : chơi bóng đá

-(to)play Volleyball : chơi bóng chuyền

- Introduce the word by explaining the meaning, using the picture.

-Write the word on the Board

- Read the word for the modal (1times). Then help Students to repeat (3times).

- Check Student’s reading in chorus & correct the mistakes.

 - Check the meaning & the pronunciation.

- Ask Students to copy the word.

- Rub out some words and remember.

-Ask students repeat and write the word on the board.

UNIT 12: SPORTS AND PASTIMES
PERIOD 74: LESSON A1-2 WHAT ARE THEY DOING?
A.Aim: Help Students to practice in Present Progressive & sports vocabulary.
B.Objective: At the end of the lesson, Students will be able to talk about what people are doing now.
C.Skills: Speaking, writing, reading and listening.
D.Teaching aids: pictures, textbook, board, chalk.
E.Attitude: students may be interested in playing sports and talking about what people are doing.

Play game: Jumbled words.
-Give the jumbled words 
Ex :Torps = sport 	 
 belvalylol = volleyball
Atble nisten = table tennis
Osarebic=aerobics
Goj= jog
Binmontad=badminton
Cersoc=soccer
Nisten= tennis
Smiw = swim
Pisk = skip
-Ask Students to put the letters into the right order to form the correct words.
-Devide the class into two groups.
-Ask students work in group and write the answer on the board.
-Correct Students answers & comment.

2. Presentation dialogue: A1-P124.
- Introduce the dialogue & introduce the example exchange.
-Try to help students to review the tenses: present progressive tense.
Ex: He is swimmimg.
 They are playing badminton.
 She is skipping
- Help Students to practice the dialogue in pairs.
- Correct Student’s pronunciation & comment.
Model sentences :
What is he/she doing?
He/she’s.
What are they doing?
They’re. 
Ex: What is he doing?
 He is jogging.
Ex: What are they doing?
 They are playing soccer.
Picture drill: A1-P124.
 - Introduce the example exchange & Help Students to practice.
- Read the first modal for example 
- Ask Students to make sentences for the next.
- Correct Student’s pronunciation & comment.
*Ex:
S1: What are they doing? 
S2: They’re playing soccer.
S1: What Is She / he doing?
S2: She / he is skipping.
Give the requirement & ask Students to work in pairs & make the question & the answer.
-Invite students practice in front of the class.
-Check pronunciation, stress and tone.
*Ex:
S1: What are you doing?
S2: I am playing soccer
S1: What are you doing?
S2: I am Studying
