Lesson 3 (1 - 3)
A. Aim:
- By the end of the lesson Ps will be able to:
+ pronoun two-syllable words with the stress on the first and second syllables: ‘party, ‘Sunday, en’joyed, in’vite
* Skills:
- Develop Ss speaking and listening skills
* Language focus:
- Words: ‘party, ‘Sunday, en’joyed, in’vite
* Teaching aids:
Pictures, poster, cassette (overhead, computer)
B. Procedure:
I. Warm up: 5ms
Review words stresses
river, mountain, vity, village
usually, always, often, never, sometimes
underground, motorbike, holiday, family
II. New lesson:
1. Listen and repeat:8ms
- Have sts to look at the overhead’s screen, draw their attention to the words
- Produce the words: ‘always, ‘usually, ‘often, and ‘sometimes with the stress on the first syllable
- Play CD for sts listen
- Have sts repeat the focused on the stress a few times.
- Play the recording twice and ask Ss to repeat
- Monitor the activity and offer help when necessary/ correct typical pronunciation errors.
- Call on someone to pronounce.
- Have the whole class recite the chant to reinforce their pronunciation.
2. Mark the words stress. Then say the words aloud: 8ms
- Have pupils read the words given
- Get sts say aloud
- Tell the pupils that they are going to read and mark word stress for the words given
- Have sts do the task individually.
- Compare the answers with the partners.

Tuesday, November 3rd , 2020 Week :7 Period :21 Unit 4: Did you go to the party? Lesson 2: (1 - 3) A. Aim: - By the end of the lesson Ps will be able to: + ask and answer questions about what someone did at a party. * Skills: - Develop Ss speaking and listening skills * Language focus: - Sentence Patterns: - What did you do at the party? + I / We .. - Vocabulary: * Teaching aids: cards, picture, cassette/ computer (overhead) B. Procedure: I. Warm up: Change verbs into past form Verb Verb (past) go went do did play played watch watched eat ate drink drank sing sang II. New lesson: 1. Look, listen and repeat: - Set the scene: - Elicit the context of the picture - Have sts look at the pictures and guess what the story is about - Check comprehension by pointing at each picture to elicit their answers for: + What’s party? – Birthday party + What did they do? – sang, danced, ate, - Play CD for sts listen and follow in their books - Play again – sts repeat - Some Ss role play and the others comment. - Ask Ss to role play - Ask Ss to role play before the class. => Elicit the modal sentences: Quan: What did you do? Tony: We sang and danced. 3. Point and say: - Have pupils look at pictures. - Run through the phrases and words - Use flashcards to teach the question and answer in the speech bubbles. Have sts repeat the phrases a few times. - Model (a) A: What did you do? B: We had nice food and drink. - Give instruction - Point to each picture and how often they do things to fill the gaps. - Have sts to repeat the sentences a few times. - Repeat the procedure with the second picture. - Ask sts work in pairs. - Call some pairs practice in front of the class. - Check sts’ mistake when necessary. - Make a few questions to check pupils’ comprehension of the language. - Have the whole class repeat all the phrases in chorus to reinforce their pronunciation. 3. Let’s talk. - Have stst read aloud 3 questions given - Tell the class that they are going to practice further by asking and answering questions about what you and your friends did - Run through. - Give instruction. - Model: A: Did you go to the party? B: Yes, I did. A: How was it? B: It was great. A: What did you do there? B: We sang, danced and played hide and seek. - Give sts 3 mins for sts practice (about themselves) - Get sts to work in groups of three to interact. - Call a few pairs to practise in front of the class. - Check ss’ pronunciation. Aim: - By the end of the lesson Ps will be able to practice: + asking and answer questions about what someone did * Skills: - Develop Ss speaking and listening skills * Language focus: - Sentence Patterns: - What did you do? + I / We .. * Teaching aids: (overhead, computer) B. Procedure: I. Warm up: Play “Pass the ball” game What did you do at the party? I/ We II. New lesson: 1. Listen and circle a or b: - Have pupils read the sentences and phrases given - Get sts say aloud - Tell the pupils that they are going to listen to 3 dialogues and circle the words given to complete the sentences. - Play the recording twice for pupils listen and circle the correct words. - Compare the answers with the partners. - Play the recording again pupils check their answers. - T gets the answer: - Have pupils act out the dialogues in pairs or groups for correction. - Ask some questions to ensure pupils’ comprehension of the listening text. Write about you: - Have pupils look at the questions given - Ask pupils what they do this part - Tell them that they are going to write the answer base on the questions about past event - Call on a pupil to write on the board and other pupils write into their books in individuals. - Have pupils discuss their answers in pairs for correction. - Have pupils comment the answer on the board. - Call some pupils read aloud their work in front of the class. - Have the class chorally read each line. * Suggested answer: 1. Friday, November 6th , 2020 Week :7 Period :24 Unit 4: Did you go to the party? Lesson 3 (4 - 7) A. Aim: - By the end of the lesson Ps will be able to: + further practice about asking and answering about what they did at the party. * Skills: - Develop Ss reading and writing and drawing skills * Language focus: - Revise from L1 + L2 * Teaching aids: Pictures, poster, cassette (computer) B. Procedure: I. Warm up: 5ms Saying the chant “When were your birthday?” II. New lesson: 1. Read and answer: 10ms - Ask sts to open their book on page 29 - Give instruction. - Elicit: What day is it? Who are they? What did they do? - Ask sts to read the text to get information. - Have sts do the task individually - Monitor the activity and offer help when necessary. - Ask sts to work in pairs to check the answer - Call on some sts to report their answers. * Key: 1. It was last Sinday. 2. Some of his classmates went to his birthday. 3. He played the guitar. 4. She played the piano. 2. Write about your birthday party:10ms - Have sts read the questions given - Elicit some ideas about each question - Get some sts answer aloud - Checking understanding how to write - Have sts write in 5 mins - Remind sts how to write in correct way (capital letters, comma, full stop) - Get sts swap and read their writing in pairs - Invite two or three sts to read their writing task - Get sts give feedback - Check and correct * Suggested answer: My friend is Hoa. It was my birthday last week. My friends, Nam, Tuan went to my birthday. They gave me some presents like: books, hat, pens, robot.We sang, danced, played games, ate cakes and took photos. The party was great. 3. Project: 7ms - Ask ss to work in group to discuss what presents to give a cclassmate for his/ her birthday. - Elicit an idea for model. - Go around and check their work - Comment 4. * Reinforcement: 3ms Colour the stars - Have the class read the statements and check their comprehension - Invite sts to read statements aloud - Check their understanding the meaning - Give them to colour about degree that they got after the Unit 4 - Getting their ideas about difficulties to help
