I. Warm up.
- Review the model sentences from unit1 to unit 5.
- Introduce the new lesson.
II. New lesson.
1. Listen and tick
- Have sts look at pictures 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 on page 36 of the Student Book.
- Run through.
- Give instruction.
- Ask sts to guess the answers.
- Play the recording 2 times for sts to listen and tick the boxes. Check their guess.
- Ask sts to compare the answer with the partner.
- Play the recording again sts check their answers.
- Announce the answer:
- Ask some questions to ensure sts’ comprehension of the listening text.

Object: By the end of the lesson, sts will be able to: - Pronouce the sound of the letters: s, sw in the words: sing, swim. - Develop speaking and listening skill. B. Language focus: - Phonics: sing, swim. C. Resources: handmade puppets, robot-teacher, photographs of greeting. D. Procedure: I. Warm up: - Ask sts to recall what they have been learnt from the last lesson. - Comment. - Lead in the new lesson. II. New lesson. 1. Listen and repeat - Have sts to concerntrate on the letters: s, sw in the words: sing, swim. - Pronounce the focused sounds a few times as a model. - Play the recording twice for sts to listen and repeat. - Ask sts to repeat and others give feedback. - Let sts listen to the CD again then tell how to pronounce the sound of the letters: s, sw in the words: sing, swim. - Ask them to compare the sound of these wordswith Vietnamese. - Give feedback. 2. Listen and number. Then say aloud. - Ask sts to discuss what they are going to do. - Play the recording for sts to listen. - Replay for sts to listen and circle the best answers. - Play the recording again for sts to check their answer. - Ask sts to compare with their partner. - Call on some sts to report. - Give feedback. Language focus: - Vocabulary: Review - Sentence Patterns: Review. C. Resources: handmade puppets, robot-teacher, photographs of greeting. D. Procedure: I. Warm up: - Let sts sing the chant: Can you sing? - Comment. - Lead in the new lesson. II. New lesson. 1. Read and complete. - Run through. - Ask sts to tell what are you going to do. - Have sts to read through the letter, then write the right answer individually in the blanks. - Set the time for sts and monitor the activity. - Have sts to compare with their partners. - Check and remark. The rest of the class listen give comments. - Make a few questions to check sts’ comprehension of the sentences. - Have the whole class read each sentence in chorus to reinforce their pronunciation.
