A. Object: By the end of the lesson, sts will be able to:
- Pronouce the sound of the letters: s, sw in the words: sing, swim.
- Develop speaking and listening skill. 
B. Language focus: 
- Phonics: sing, swim.
C. Resources: handmade puppets, robot-teacher, photographs of greeting.
D. Procedure:
I. Warm up: 
- Ask sts to recall what they have been learnt from the last lesson.
- Comment.
- Lead in the new lesson.
II. New lesson.
1. Listen and repeat
- Have sts to concerntrate on the letters: s, sw in the words: sing, swim.
- Pronounce the focused sounds a few times as a model.
- Play the recording twice for sts to listen and repeat.
- Ask sts to repeat and others give feedback.
- Let sts listen to the CD again then tell how to pronounce the sound of the letters: s, sw in the words: sing, swim.
- Ask them to compare the sound of these wordswith Vietnamese.
- Give feedback.
2. Listen and number. Then say aloud. 
- Ask sts to discuss what they are going to do.
- Play the recording for sts to listen.
- Replay for sts to listen and circle the best answers.
- Play the recording again for sts to check their answer.
- Ask sts to compare with their partner.
- Call on some sts to report.
- Give feedback.

- Sentence Patterns: Review.
C. Resources: handmade puppets, robot-teacher, photographs of greeting.
D. Procedure:
I. Warm up: 
- Let sts sing the chant: Can you sing?
- Comment. 
- Lead in the new lesson.
II. New lesson.
1. Read and complete.
- Run through.
- Ask sts to tell what are you going to do.
- Have sts to read through the letter, then write the right answer individually in the blanks.
- Set the time for sts and monitor the activity.
- Have sts to compare with their partners.
- Check and remark.

2. Write about yourself
- Ask sts open their book on page 35, look at the passage.
- Let sts to discuss what are they going to write.
- Give instruction.
- Ask sts to write about themselves.

III. Reinforcement
* Game: Interview.
- Tell sts interview one of their classmates about whether someone can do some thing, using Can you.

Review 1
A. Object : By the end of the lesson, sts will be able to: 
- Perform their abilities in listening, speaking and writing related to the topics from units 1-5, using the phonics, vocabulary and sentence patterns they have learnt.
B. Language focus
- Sentence patterns: Review.
C. Resources:
Books, teachers’ book, notebooks, cards and cassette.
D. Procedure:
I. Warm up.
- Review the model sentences from unit1 to unit 5.
- Introduce the new lesson.
II. New lesson.
1. Listen and tick
- Have sts look at pictures 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 on page 36 of the Student Book.
- Run through.
- Give instruction.
- Ask sts to guess the answers.
- Play the recording 2 times for sts to listen and tick the boxes. Check their guess.
- Ask sts to compare the answer with the partner.	
- Play the recording again sts check their answers. 
- Announce the answer:
- Ask some questions to ensure sts’ comprehension of the listening text.

 2. Read and write
- Explain the situation and how to do the exercises for sts.
- Ask sts to read the passage in the book and answer the questions.
- Let sts work in pairs to do the exercise then practice in pairs in front of the whole class. The rest listen to and give the remark. 
- Correct the pronunciation.

3. Read and match	
- Have sts turn their books to page 37. 
- Give instruction.
- Ask sts to read the sentences individually and do the task. 
- Monitor the activity and offer help when necessary.
- Have sts trade their answers for correction.
- Call on some sts to report their answers. The rest of the class listen give comments.
- Make a few questions to check sts’ comprehension of the sentences.
- Have the whole class read each sentence in chorus to reinforce their pronunciation.

4. Look and write. Then say.
- Have sts look at pictures a, b, c and d on page 37. 
- Elicit the characters in the pictures and their names. 
- Ask sts to look at the pictures and complete the speech bubbles.

- Call some sts to say aloud their answers.
- Correct pronunciation errors (stress, assimilation of sounds, intonation) when necessary.
- Have the whole class repeat all the phrases in chorus to reinforce their pronunciation.
5. Write about you.
- Run through and give instruction.
- Set the time for sts to do the task.
- Move around to offer help.
- Have sts to perform the their answers.
- Give feedback.
