D. Procedure:

I. Warm up:

- Check the old lesson.

- Comment and give marks.

- Lead in the new lesson.

II. New lesson.

 1. Listen and number.

 - Run through.

- Ask sts to look at the pictures and guess what are they doing.

- Play the recording for sts to listen all the way through.

- Let sts liste again and tick the correct pictures.

- Play the recording again for sts to check their answers.

- Give feedback.

2. Look and write.

- Have sts look at the picures on page 27.

- Ask sts what they have to do in this task.

- Ask them to discuss and complete the blanks.

- Call someone to write on the board.

- Check and correct mistakes.

3. Let’s chant.

- Introduce the chant: Months of the year and read the lyrics.

- Play the recording the song all the way through.

- Ask sts to practise the chant in pairs.

IV. Homework

- Ask sts to do exercises in their workbook.

Lesson 1: Part 1, 2
A. Object: By the end of the lesson, sts will be able to:
- Use the words and prases related to the topics: dates and birthdays.
- Ask ad aswer questions about dates.
B. Language focus: 
- Vocabulary: the first, the second, the third, the fourth
- Sentence pattern: What is the date today?

C. Resources: handmade puppets, robot-teacher, photographs of students
D. Procedure:
I. Warm up: 
- Play the tape of the song: “Happy birthday to u” for sts.
- Ask sts to guess the topic of the lesson.
- Lead in the new lesson.
II. New lesson.
1. Look, listen and repeat:
 - Run through and set the scene.
- Give instruction.
- Play the recording all the way through.
- Replay the recording for sts listen and repeat.
- Divide class into 2 groups to play roles and ask them to take turns.
- Ask sts to do further practice in small groups.
- Check to make sure that sts can repeat and understand the dialogues (Providing some words for sts: the first of October, the second)
 2. Point and say.
- Tell sts that they are going to pratise asking and answering question about dates, using “What is the date today? It’s..” 
- Have them to look at pictures to understand how the language is used.
- In order for sts to say the dates: the first, the second, the third, the fourth
- Point to picture a and have sts repeat the date under the picture.
- Elicit the sentence pattern from sts: “What is the date today? It’s..”
- Make model with sts.
- Ask sts to work in pairs with the pictures then practise freely.
- Move around to offer help.
- Call on some pairs to perform the task.
- Give feedback.
III. Reinforcement:
- Review the lesson.

- Ask sts to learn new words by heart.

D. Procedure:
I. Warm up: 
- Ask sts to sing the song: What’s the date today?
- Give feedback.
- Lead in the new lesson.
II. New lesson.

- Elicit sts to talk about the pictures at part 1 on page 26.
- Set the scene.
- Give instruction.
- Play the recording all the way through.
- Replay the recording for sts listen and repeat.
- Divide class into 2 groups and ask them to play roles.
- Ask sts to do further practice in pairs.
- Check to make sure that sts can repeat and understand the dialogues(note: What a nice cake!).
 2. Practice.
- Use the pictures a, b, c and d on the book to run through some new words: January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November, December.
- Set the scene for sts to elicit the pattern:

- Make models: T- S1; T – S2; S1 – S2;S2 – S3.
- Ask sts to work in pairs using the given cues then practise freely.
- Move around to offer help.

- Develop speaking and listening skill. 
B. Language focus: 
- Phonics: fourth, March.
C. Resources: handmade puppets, robot-teacher, photographs of greeting.
D. Procedure:
I. Warm up: 
- Order the words: march, april, february.....
- Comment.
- Lead in the new lesson.
II. New lesson.
1. Listen and repeat
- Have sts to concerntrate on the letters: th,ch, in the words: fourth, March.
- Pronounce the focused sounds a few times as a model.
- Play the recording twice for sts to listen and repeat.
- Ask sts to repeat and others give feedback.
- Let sts listen to the CD again then tell how to pronounce the sound of the letters: th,ch, in the words: fourth, March.
- Ask them to compare the sound of these wordswith Vietnamese.
- Give feedback.
2. Listen and circle. Then write and say aloud. 
- Ask sts to discuss what they are going to do.
- Play the recording for sts to listen.
- Replay for sts to listen and circle the best answers.
- Play the recording again for sts to check their answer.
- Ask sts to compare with their partner.

- Comment. 
- Lead in the new lesson.
II. New lesson.
1. Read and tick.
- Run through.
- Ask sts to tell what are you going to do.
- Have sts to read through the letter, then tick the right answer individually.
- Set the time for sts and monitor the activity.
- Have sts to compare with their partners.
- Check and remark.

2. Write an invitation card:
- Ask sts open their book on page 29, look at the card: the birthday invitation.
- Let sts to discuss what are they going to fill in the card.
