- Sentence patterns: What is your favourite food/ drink?

I .Warm-up :
Game: Hang – man

- Give feedback.
- Lead in the new lesson.
II. New lesson
1. Vocabulary.
- Beef	(n): thịt bò
- Pork	(n): thịt lợn
- Orange juice	(n): nước cam ép (pictures)
- Milk	(n): sữa
- Chicken	(n): thịt gà
* Checking vocabulary: Slap the board
2. Look, listen and repeat.
- Run through and set the sense.
- Give instruction.
- Play the recording all the way through.
- Replay the recording for sts listen and repeat.
- Divide class into 4 groups to read the dialogue and ask them to play roles.
- Ask sts to do further practice in groups of 4.
- Check to make sure that sts can repeat and understand the dialogues.
2. Point and say
- Ask sts to look at the pictures a, b, c and d.
- Run through .
- Use handmade puppets to teach: What is your favourite food/ drink?

- Have sts to look at the pictures and do the task in pairs then practise freely.
- Move around to offer help.
- Call on some pairs to perform the task.

- Run through and set the scene.
- Ask sts to look at the pictures and guess what are they saying.
- Give instruction.
- Play the recording for sts to listen through.
- Play the recording again for sts to listen and tick the correct pictures.
- Replay for sts to check their answers.
- Ask sts to trade the answer.
- Call on some sts to report.
- Give feedback.

- Have sts look at the picures on page 19.
- Ask sts what they have to do in this task.
- Ask them to discuss and complete the blanks.
- Call someone to write on the board.
- Check and correct mistakes.

- Offer someone food or drinks and accept/ decline someone’s offer.
B. Language focus:
- Vocabulary: bread, rice, vegetables, lemonade, noodles.
- Sentence patterns: Would you like some?
Yes, please./ No, thanks.
C. Resources: Book, CD-player.
D. Procedure:
I .Warm-up :
- Check the old lesson.
- Lead in the new lesson.
II. New Lesson:
1. Vocabulary.
- Rice	(n): cơm
- Bread 	(n): bánh mì
- Lemonade	(n): nước chanh (pictures)
- Vegetables 	(n): rau
- Noodles	(n): mì tôm
* Checking vocabulary: Matching pictures
2. Look, listen and repeat.
- Ask sts to look at the pictures then run through and set the scene.
- Give instruction.
- Open the cassette all the way through.
- Ask sts to listen again and repeat the dialogue.
- Divide the class into 2 groups and ask them to play a role.
- Have sts to do further practice in pairs.
- Give feedback.
- Provide some new words for sts to make a sense of the dialogue.
- Elicit the sentence pattern from sts: Would you like some noodles?

- Give examples.
3. Practice
- Ask sts to turn to part 2 and look at the pictures.
- Run through then give instruction.
- Make model the pattern: T – St; St – T; S1 – S2.

D. Procedure:
I .Warm-up :
Game: Tic tac toe (using some new words from the last lesson.)
- Lead in the new lesson.
II. New lesson
1. Listen and number
- Let sts guess what are they going to do.
- Give instruction.
- Ask them to elicit the pictures.
- Play the recording all the way through for sts to listen.
- Replay for sts to listen and tick.
- Play once more times for sts to check their answers.
- Ask sts to compare with their partners.
- Call on some sts to report.
- Give feedback.
