Lesson 3

A. Object: By the end of the lesson, sts will be able to:

- Pronounce the sound of the letters: ie, ea in the words: field, piece, teacher and reading.

- Develop speaking and listening skill.

- Phonics: field, piece, teacher and reading.

C. Resources: handmade puppets, robot-teacher, photographs of greeting.

D. Procedure:

I. Warm up:

- Ask sts to recall what they have been learnt from the last lesson.

- Comment.

- Lead in the new lesson.

II. New lesson.

Lesson 2: Part 1, 2, 3
A. Object: By the end of the lesson, sts will be able to:
- Use the words and phrases related to the topic Jobs.
- Ask and answer questions about places of work.
B. Language focus:
- Vocabulary: field, factory, hospital, clerk, office .
- Sentence pattern: Where does a.. work?
	A.works.
C. Resources: Book, CD-player.
D. Procedure:
I. Warm up. 
- Check the old lesson.
- Give feedback.
- Lead in the new lesson.
II. New lesson.
1. Look, listen and repeat
- Ask sts to look at the pictures then run through and set the scene.
- Give instruction.
- Open the cassette all the way through.
- Ask sts to listen again and repeat the dialogue.
- Divide the class into 4 groups and ask them to play a role.
- Have sts to do further practice in pairs.
- Give feedback.
- Provide some new words for sts to make a sense of the dialogue: hospital, factory, field.
- Elicit the sentence pattern from sts: Where does a.. work?
	A.works.
- Give examples.
2. Practice
- Ask sts to turn to part 2 and look at the pictures.
- Run through then give instruction.
- Provide some words help sts to do the task: taking photos, flying kites.
- Make model the pattern: T – St; St – T; S1 – S2.
- Let sts practise in pairs with the given information, then practise freely themselves
- Move around to offer help.
- Call on some pairs to report.
- Comment.

- Give feedback.

I. Warm up: 
* Chatting.
- Lead in the new lesson.
II. New lesson.
1. Listen and number
- Let sts guess what are they going to do.
- Give instruction.
- Ask them to elicit the pictures.
- Play the recording all the way through for sts to listen.
- Replay for sts to listen and number.
- Play once more times for sts to check their answers.
- Ask sts to compare with their partners.
- Call on some sts to report.
- Give feedback.

- Ask sts to look at the pics and tell what are they going to do.
- Allow sts time to do the task independently.

- Instruct the game (the same to the game: whisper).

1. Listen and repeat
- Have sts to concerntrate on: ie, ea in the words: field, piece, teacher and reading.
- Pronounce the focused sounds a few times as a model.
- Play the recording twice for sts to listen and repeat.
- Ask sts to repeat and others give feedback.
- Let sts listen to the CD again then tell how to pronounce the sound of the letters: ie, ea in the words: field, piece, teacher and reading.
- Ask them to compare the sound of these wordswith Vietnamese.
- Give feedback.
2. Listen and circle. Then say sentences with the circled words. 
- Ask sts to discuss what they are going to do.
- Play the recording for sts to listen.
- Replay for sts to listen and circle the best answers.
- Play the recording again for sts to check their answer.
- Ask sts to compare with their partner.
- Call on some sts to report.
- Give feedback.
