I .Warm-up.

* Chatting: Ask sts to ask and answer questions about their hobbies.

- Give feedback.

- Lead in the new lesson.

Lesson 3: Part 1, 2, 3
A. Object:By the end of the lesson, sts will be able to:
- Practice the sound /u/ .
- Develop listening, writing skills.
B. Language focus: 
- Phonics: cook, book, noon, school.
C. Resources: handmade puppets, robot-teacher, photographs of greeting.
D. Procedure:
I. Warm up: 
- Check the old lesson.
- Lead in the new lesson.
II. New lesson.
1. Listen and repeat
- Have sts to open the book page 10, draw their attention to the letters colored differently in the words cook, book, noon, school.
- Produce the sound of the letter oo 
- Have sts repeat the focused sounds a few times.
- Play the recording twice and ask sts to repeat.
- Monitor the activity and offer help.
- Call on someone to pronounce.
- Have the whole class recite the chant to reinforce their pronunciation.
2. Listen and write. Then say aloud.
- Ask sts to turn to Page 10 of the Student Book. 
- Give instruction.
- Play the tape twice.
- Ask them to listen and circle the answers.
- Check sts’ notebook.
- Call someone to write on the board then say it aloud.
- Check and correct mistakes.

3. Let’s chant
- Show the chart of the chant “What time do you go to school?”
- Play the tape a few times.
- Ask sts to read aloud each line in the song and clap their hands.
- Ask them to listen again and repeat.
- Have sts practice the chant in pairs.
- Call each group, then pairs to perform.
- Correct and comment.
- Play the tape once to reinforce their pronunciation.
III. Reinforcement 
- In this lesson, sts have learned how to pronounce the sound /u/.
- Have sts to further practice at home.
- Be ready Unit 11 – Lesson 3(4.5.6)

A. Object: By the end of the lesson, sts will be able to:
- Develop reading and writing skills.
B. Language focus: 
- Review the period lesson.
C. Resources: handmade puppets, robot-teacher, photographs of greeting.
D. Procedure:
I. Warm up 
- Ask sts to read the chant on page 10 individually and chorally.
II. New lesson
1. Read and complete.
- Ask sts to open their book on page 11.
- Give instruction.
- Ask sts to read sts’ cards and do the task in pairs.
- Monitor the activity and offer help when necessary.
- Call on some sts to report their answers. 
- Make a few questions to check sts’ comprehension of the dialogue.
- Have the whole class chorally read each line of the sentences to reinforce their pronunciation. 
Key: 1. 7 a.m 2. 5 o’clock 3. has dinner 4. goes to bed
2. Let’s write.
- Tell sts that they are going to fill in the blanks to make a short paragraph about Linda’s daily routines.
- Give instruction.
- Ask them to write in groups.
- Get sts to exchange their paragraph.
- Check and correct mistakes.
3. Project
- Show the table for sts, then run through.
- Set the time for sts to fill in the table.
- Control the activity.
- Let sts perform theirs in front of the class.
- Comment.

II. New lesson
1. Look, listen and repeat.
- Run through and set the sense.
- Give instruction.
- Play the recording all the way through.
- Replay the recording for sts listen and repeat.
- Divide class into 4 groups to read the dialogue and ask them to play roles.
- Ask sts to do further practice in groups of 4.
- Check to make sure that sts can repeat and understand the dialogues(provide some words: nurse, student )
 2. Point and say
- Ask sts to look at the pictures a, b, c and d.
- Run through some words: farmer, nurse, driver, factory worker.
- Use handmade puppets to teach: What does your father do?
	He’s a farmer.
- Model the structure: T-sts; sts-T; S1-S2 
- Have sts to look at the pictures and do the task in pairs then practise freely.
- Move around to offer help.
- Call on some pairs to perform the task.
III. Reinforcement:
- Call sts to tell about their hobbies with their friends.
- Comment.
