Period 5. UNIT 2: AT THE CAFE
Lesson 2
Objectives: 
By the end of the period, students will be able to recognize and listen and say the words with the sound /ei/. 
B. Teaching aids: Textbook, chalk, board, computer, speaker, ect. 
C. Procedures:
Warm-up: (5’)
Have the class play a game to revise the words in Lesson 1.
2. Point and say. (8’)
Aim: students will be able to recognize and say the words with the sound /ei/. 
- Have them look at the pictures and point to the pictures and students say the words.
 - Get them to point to each of these pictures and say the words. 
- Ask pupils to say the words chorally and individually. Call some students to point to the pictures and say the words aloud.
- Correct their mistakes. 
3. Chant. (12’)
Aim: students will be able to practise the sound /ei/ and the words with this sound through the chant. 
- Tell pupils that they are going to say the chant. Play the recording a few times for pupils to do choral and individual repetition. 
- Show them how to chant and do actions. Have students to chant in pairs. 
- Organize for students to chant with the teacher and then team A and team B (paragraph 1- paragraph 2)
- Have students to work in pairs to practise chanting and doing actions. Go around and offer help, if necessary.
- Call three pairs to the front of the class to chant and do actions. The rest of the class claps along to the rhythm.
4. Listen and tick. (10’)
Aim: students will be able to listen and tick the correct boxes to choose the pictures.
- Tell the class that they are going to listen and tick the correct boxes under the pictures. Show pupils how to carry out the task and tick the box as this is the first time they do this kind of task. Draw their attention to the pictures. Elicit the names of the characters/objects. Have pupils repeat them once or twice.
- Play the recording three times for pupils to listen, do the task and check their answers. 
- Get pupils to swap and check their answers before checking as a class.

Lesson 3 
A. Objectives: 
By the end of the period, students will be able to talk about the position of a person and things using “The. Is/ are on the table; write the letter A/a right and beautifully; sing a song about a family walking outside.
B. Teaching aids: Textbook, chalk, board, computer, speaker, ect. 
C. Procedures:
Warm-up: (5’) 
Have the class say a chant in Lesson 2
5. Let’s talk. (8’)
- Aim: Students will be able students will be able to talk about the position of a person and things using “The. Is/ are on the table.
Steps:
- Have the students to recognize pictures and say the words. 
- Point to the first picture and make the first model with doing the actions: “The. Is/ are on the table. Say the meaning for students to understand. Let them repeat twice. Call some students to say it again.
- Show the rest pictures and elicit from student to make the sentences. 
- Have students to point to each picture in their books and repeat the sentences. Ask them to work in pairs to say again.
- Call some students to come to the board to point and say. Correct mistakes for students.
- Ask students to work in pairs. 
6. Look and write. (5’)
- Aims: Students will be able to write the letter A/a right and beautifully 
- Students look at the pictures and say their duties.
- Have the student write the letter A/a
- Students complete the letter A/a in the words.
- Set the time for them to write. Then check as a class by calling some students to write on the board. Give feedback.
7. Sing! (17’)
- Aim: Students will be able to sing sing a song about activities of members in a family at the café. 
- Tell the students that they are going to sing a song.
- Ask them to listen and point to the words in the song. 
- Students read the lyric of the song.
- Have students sing sentence by sentence and do the actions.
- Students sing the whole song and do the actions.
- Have students work in pairs/ groups to sing and then check.
