Reported questions

* Yes/ No- question:

Eg: She asked me: “Do you speak other language?”

-> She asked me if I spoke other languages.

S + asked Sb + if/ whether + S + to be (was/were)/ V(past)/ modal V + O.

* Wh- question:

 Eg: “What is your name?” she asked.

-> She asked me what my name was.

“ Where do you come from?” She asked me

-> She asked me where I came from.

A. Objectives:
* At the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to advise somebody how to do something if they want to do something and report something.
* Contents: + Vocabulary: exam, examination, examiner….
+ Grammar: + The conditional sentences type 1 (if + modal verb)
 + Reported speech: Wh- question and yes/no- question
* Skills: + Listen and read the dialogue then check in the box.
 	 + Know the way how to change into reported speech.
	 + Talk about their way how to learn English 
B. Teaching aids: CD- player.

Contents
I. Organization: (1’)
- Greeting.
- Checking the attendance.
II. Checking the old lesson: (3’)
- Ask Ss some questions about the way to learning English:
- Introduce the new lesson
III. New lesson: (36’)
1. Presetation: 
- Use the Sub-board to write 10 suggest sentences on and ask Ss to look at it then tick (V – X) what they usually do.
- Give a question and ask Ss to answer.
- Introduce the lesson.
- Play the tape, ask Ss to listen once.
- Read the dialogue and ask Ss to repeat.
- Explain the new words.
- Guide Ss to read all the new words.
- Call some Ss to read.
- Correct Ss’ pronunciation.
- Remind the way to change direct speech in to indirect speech
- Note: two kinds of questions (Wh- question and yes/no- question)
- Introduce “If” Conditional sentence- Type 1: with modal verbs
- Give some examples and form
2. Practice: 
- Give the situations of the lesson then guide students to read once
- Ask Ss. to work in pairs 
- Call some pairs to read the text aloud.
- Ask Ss to find out the reported speech in the dialouge
- Correct 
- Ask students to read the dialouge again
- Hang on the sub- boarb
- Ask Ss to check (V) the questions base on the text.
3. Production: 
- Get Ss. to read and check on the board.
- Call Ss to read the dialouge again
IV. Feedback: (3’)
- Remark and repeat the main contents of the lesson.
V. Homework: (1’)
- Read and translate the text again.
- Learn new words and structure
- Prepare the next period: Unit 4:Speak

I. Getting started:
* Check the things you do from the list. Add more things you do or you want to do. Then work with a partner and compare their list:
- How do you learn English?
- To study English, I usually all the homework, learrn by heart all the new words, read the text and learn to sing English songs…
II. Listen and read:
* New words:
1. examiner (n): giám khảo 
2. examination (n): kì thi
3. exam (v): thi 
4. aspect (n) : khía cạnh
5. course (n): khoá học, thi
6. oral examination (n): kì thi vấn đáp
7. candidate (n): thí sinh
* Grammar:
