- Is your house big?
Presentation:
- Elicit on the content of the unit.
- Ask questions about the surrounding of their houses, what there are around their houses.
- Describe own house and tell them what there are around our house.
- Let them look at the pictures or maps.
- Introduce new words by pictures.
- Let SS listen to the cassette.
- Listen to the teacher’s introduction carefully.
- Answer the teacher’s questions.
- Look at the pictures shown by the teacher and try to describe one’s own house.
- Write new words.
- Listen.
1. Listen and repeat:

- river
- lake (n): hồ, ao
- hotel (n): khách sạn
- park (n): công viên
- tree (n): cây
- flower (n): hoa
- rice paddy (n): cánh đồng lúa
- yard (n): sân
- near (adv): gần, cạnh

Practice:
- Teacher rereads the two paragraphs and ask SS to read them.
- Ask Wh _ questions to check their comprehension.
- Begin questions with “How, what, where ”
- Ask questions in the books and let them answer.
- Let them practice in pairs or in small groups.
- Note: used: this/that

- Practice individually.
- Listen to the cassette, then to the teacher.
- Reread the two passage by oneself.
- Try to ask questions with question words and answer according to the main ideas in the book.
- Practice in pairs and in small groups.
 Then ask and answer the questions:

d) He is 20.
e) She lives in a house.
f) There is a lake, a river, a hotel, a park, a rice paddy near her house.

- Show SS some new pictures.
- Say some models.
- Ask them to make new sentences by themselves.
- Practice asking and answering on this subject.

- Teacher says the new words slowly and clearly, emphasize the main stressed syllables.
- Let them listen to the cassette and reread by themselves.
- Let SS copy the sentences in the exercise notebooks. Teacher checks whether their sentences are right or wrong.
- Listen to the teacher’s questions and look at the pictures show then answer.
- Listen to the models said by the teacher.
- Try to make new sentences and write in the notebook.
- Listen to the new words and repeat after the teacher.
- Listen to the teacher and write the words that they’ve heard.
- Write the sentences in the exercise notebook to describe what is near one’s house.

- Read the sentences on page 62 and ask them to choose the correct ones by saying “true” or “false”.
- Ask SS to read the text again, then rewrite the sentences in their notebooks.
- Ask some of them to reread the answers.
- Say words by words, then let Ss repeat.
- Ask some of them say the words by themselves. Let them listen to the cassette and write the words they hear in their notebooks.
- Give SS the structures of Wh-questions and explain the meanings of the prepositions of places “near, in, next to, on”.
- Have them take notes and memorize.
- Read the passage carefully and then find out the correct sentences.
- Read the text again and complete the sentences, then write in the notebooks.
- Some SS reread the sentences.
- Listen to the teacher.
- Repeat.
- Listen and write the words in the notebooks.
- Listen and take notes, then memorize.
