I. Objectives:
Knowledge: 
- By the end of the lesson Ps will be able to identify family members.
2. Skills: 
- Develop Ps speaking and listening skills
3. Language focus:
- Sentence patterns: Who’s that? - He’s/ She’s my + name of member.
- Vocabulary: family, grandfather, grandmother, father, mother, sister, brother, he, she, man, young, nice, next to, him.
II. Teaching aids:
1. Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, pictures, cassette.
2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks.
III. Teaching processes:

 I. Warm up: Play the game “jumbled letters”
II. New lesson:
1. Look, listen and repeat.
- Ask Ps to identify the characters in 2 pictures on page 6 and ask:
+ Who are they? 
+ Where are they? 
+ And What are they talking about?
- Teach some new words:
man: người đàn ông
father: bố
he: anh (ông) ấy
young: trẻ
mother: mẹ
next to: bên cạnh
she: cô (bà) ấy
nice: đẹp
+ Teacher read first as a model and ask the Ps to repeat
+ Have the Ps repeat in groups and individuals 
- Open the tape and have the Ps listen the sound of the words.
- Play the recording a few times for pupils to listen and repeat. Do choral and individual repetition, pointing to the characters speaking
- Instruct Ps to translate the dialogue into Vietnamese.
Point and say
- Teach new word:
grandfather: ông
grandmother: bà
sister: chị (em) gái
brother: anh (em) trai
+ Teacher read first as a model and ask the Ps to repeat
+ Have the Ps repeat in groups and individuals 
- Instruct how to identify family members.
+ Ask: Who’s that?
+ Answer: He’s/ She’s my + name of member.
- T practices as a model and ask Ps to practice in choral, groups and pairs. Correct Ps’ error pronunciation

- Sentence patterns and vocabulary: review
II. Teaching aids:
1. Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, pictures, cassette.
2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks.

I. Warm up: Play the game “jumbled letters”
II. New lesson:
4. Listen and tick
- Have Ps look at the pictures on page 7. Elicit the identification of the characters in the pictures and the characters’ words. Tell pupils that they are going to listen to the recording and tick the pictures they hear. 
- Open the tape and listen the sound of the words
- Turn on the tape 2 times and ask Ps to listen and tick.
- Ask some questions to ensure Ps’ comprehension of the listening text.
- Answers: 1b 2a 3c
5. Read and complete
- Have Ps look at the picture on page 7. Get Ps to identify the characters in the pictures.
- Teach new word:
photo: bức ảnh
woman: người phụ nữ
 her: của cô ấy
 boy: chàng trai
+ Teacher read first as a model and ask the Ps to repeat
+ Have the Ps repeat in groups and individuals 
- Tell Ps that they are going to look at the picture and read 4 sentences to get information to write the missing words in 3 sentences.
- Ps read silently and complete 3 sentences.
- Ps trade their answers within pairs or groups for correction
- Ask Ps to read the answers aloud to the class. The others listen and give comments.
- Have the whole class read each sentence chorally to reinforce their pronunciation. 
Answers: 1.father 2.mother 3.brother
Let’s sing
- Tell Ps that they are going to sing the song “A happy family”.
- Have Ps read each line of the lyrics. Check comprehension.
- Open the tape and have the Ss listen the sound of the words.
- Play the tape again for Ps to do choral and individual repetition of the song by line.
- Ask Ps to sing in choral
- Have Ps practice singing in groups.
- Have class sing the song again to reinforce their pronunciation.
III. Consolidation
- Retell the content of the lesson.
