I. Warm up

- Give some pictures for sts to ask and answer about someone.

- Comment.

- Lead in the new lesson.

II. New lesson

1. Listen and tick

- Have sts look at pictures a, b, c and d on page 25 of the Student Book.

- Elicit the identification of the characters in the pictures and the characters’ words.

- Tell pupils that they are going to listen to the recording and tick the pictures they hear. Guess the answer.

- Play the recording 2 times for sts to listen and tick the boxes.

- Check their guess.

- Ask sts to compare the answers with the partner.

- Play the recording again pupils check their answers.

- Announce the answers.

- Ask some questions to ensure pupils’ comprehension of the listening text.

2. Read and write

- Have pupils open their books to Page 25.

- Run through.

- Give instruction.

- Ask sts to read silently and complete the dialogues.

- Have sts to trade their answers within pairs for correction.

- Call on some sts to report. The others listen and give comments.

- Have the whole class read each line of the dialogues chorally to reinforce their pronunciation.

C. Resources:
Books, teachers’ book, notebooks, cards and cassette.
D. Procedure:
I. Warm up.
- Ask sts to ask and answer questions they learnt from unit 1, 2, 3.
- Comment.
- Lead in the new lesson.
II. New lesson
1. Look, listen and repeat.	
- Run through.
- Point to the P1 and ask sts to look at the text in speech bubbles. Use a poster or two character puppets to present the situation. 
- Explain the meaning of the language practised. 
Who: Ai
Mrs: bà
Mr: ông
Miss: cô
Note: Name’s = name is
 What’s= What is
- Play the recording all the way through for sts to listen, and point to the appropriate line in their books. 
- Play the recording again for sts to repeat the lines in the speech bubbles. Repeat the step a few times.
- Practise with sts.
- Call on four sts. One repeats Mai’s part, the other repeats Nam’s part.
- Have whole class repeat all the phrases a few times to reinforce their pronunciation. And do the same with the dialogue between Linda and Nam.
- Go round and check sts to be able to repeat and understand the dialogue.
2. Point and say
- Have sts to look at pictures on page 24. Elicit the characters in the pictures and their names. 
- Model sentence: Who’s that?
-It’s Tony.
- Ask pupils to guess and complete the speech bubbles.
- Make model: T – S; S – T; S1 – S2
- Ask sts to point the pictures and act out the dialogues. 
- Monitor the activity and offer help. 
- Correct pronunciation errors (stress, assimilation of sounds, intonation) when necessary.
- Call on some pairs to perform their task at the front of the class. The rest of the class observe and give comments.
- Have the whole to class repeat all the phrases in chorus to reinforce their pronunciation.
3. Let’s talk.
- Run through.
- Give instruction. 
- Get sts to work in groups of three to interact.
- Call a few pairs to practise in front of the class.
- Check ss’ pronunciation.
III. Reinforcement
- Ask sts to do further practise.
IV. Homelink 
- Ask sts to learn new words by heart and practise asking and answering about someone.

* Checking vocabulary: Slapon the board. 
2. Look, Listen and repeat.
- Have sts to look at the book at page 26.
- Elicit the character and have sts to guess what they are saying.
- Set the scene.
- Have sts to listen to the recording as they read the lines in the speech bubbles
- Play the recording again for sts to repeat the lines in the speech bubbles two times.
- Divide the class into three groups. One repeat Mai’s part and the others repeat Nam’s part and teacher’s part.
- Play the recording again for the whole class to repeat each line in the speech bubbles to reinforce their pronunciation.
3. Point and say
- Have sts to look at the pictures on page 26
- Elicit the characters in the pictures and their names. Ask sts to guess and complete the speech bubbles.
- Elicit the structures:
 How old are you? - I’m eight years old.
- Model the parts of characters Miss Hien and Tom to sts.
- Ask sts to act out the dialogue1. Repeat the step with some other pairs for pictures 
- Have sts to practise acting out the dialogue in pairs, using the pictures.
- Monitor the activity and offer help. Correct pronunciation errors (stress, assimilation of sounds, intonation) when necessary.
- Call on some pairs to perform the task at the front of the class. The others observe and give comments.
- Have the whole class to repeat all the phrases in chorus to reinforce their pronunciation.

- Check sts’ guess. Ask them to compare the answers with the partners.	
- Play the recording again for sts to check their answers.

- Ask sts to identify the characters in the pictures on page 27.

- Call on some sts to report their answers. Others listen and comment.
- Make a few questions to check sts’ comprehension of the sentences.
- Have the whole class to read each sentence in chorus to reinforce their pronunciation.

3. Let’s sing
- Introduce the song: Let’s count from one to ten on Page 27. 
- Play the recording for sts to listen to the song.
- Play the recording again for sts to sing each line of the rhythm. 
- Call on a group of six to the front of the class and do the actions. The others clap their hands after the song.
- Ask sts to practise in groups.
III. Reinforcement.
- Call on one group to perform the song at the front of the class. The rest of the class sing the song and clap the rhythm.
- Have class sing the song again to reinforce their pronunciation.

- Ask sts to do exercises in their workbook.

- Pronounce the sounds in the letters /f/, /s/ correctly.

I. Warm up
Chatting:
- Ask sts to ask and answer question about someone and someone’s age.
- Give feedback.
- Lead in the new lesson.	
II. New lesson
1. Listen and repeat
- Ask sts to open the book on page 28.
- Run through.
- Play the CD and have Ps repeat each line of the chant. Then change the role.
Focus sts’ attention on the letters colored differently in the words five and six.
- Introduce and pronounce the sounds /f/ and /s/ a few times as a model. 
- Have sts to practice the sounds carefully
- Play the CD and have sts to read the chant in chorus.
- Ask sts to give which sounds in Vietnamese are similar to, and then have sts to repeat the words.
 + Ask some pairs to ask and answer.
 + Have sts recite the chant and clap the syllable to reinforce their pronunciation.
2. Listen and write
- Have sts to look at the sentences and guess the suitable words to fill in the blank. 
- Play the recording twice for sts to listen and fill the blanks. Check their guess. 
- Ask sts to compare the answer with the partner.	
- Play the recording again for sts to check their answers. 
- Get sts to report.
- Give feedback.
- Have sts to act out the dialogue in pairs or groups for correction.
- Ask some questions to ensure sts’ comprehension of the listening text.

- Turn on the tape.
- Ask sts to listen to the tape and repeat the chant.
