Lesson1 (1, 2 p.30) Objectives: By the end of this lesson, students will be able to ask and answer questions about when festival is by structure: “When is _______________? It’s on _________________.” Materials: Pictures, textbook, posters, CDs Procedure: Time Content T’s and sts’ activities 5’ I. Warm-up: play game “Hangman” C H I L D R E N -T divides class into 2 groups. -T gives a word and guides Ss how to do. -Each group will take turns to guess without finding the letter. + If the letter is contained in the word/phrase, the group or individual takes another turn guessing a letter. + If the letter is not contained in the word/phrase, a portion of the hangman is added. -The group finding out the answer more quickly will be the winner. 10’ 8’ 5’ 5’ II. Form: When is New Year? It’s on the first of January. Meaning: Hỏi/ đáp về thời gian của lễ hội. 2. Practice: - When is ____________? + It’s on ___________. 3. Production: Play game “passing the paper” - T shows some pictures to introduce new words. -T asks Ss to repeat the vocabulary in choral 3 times and then calls on some Ss to repeat them. - T writes the word on the board and asks Ss “what does it mean?” -Ss answer and copy down. - T asks Ss look at the picture and asks them to identify the characters in the picture: + “How many pictures are there?” + “Who are they?” + “What are they doing?” -Ss answer the question. - Then T plays CD for ss listen carefully (2 times). - T reads model the conversation. Then T asks Ss listen and repeat sentence by sentence after T. - T is Tom, Ss is Mai and change role. - T asks Ss work in pair in 2 minutes. - T asks Ss to look at the conversation, who can give me the new structure used to talk about when festival is. - Ss pick out the form. - T gives the structure. - T models – Ss ask and answer. - T asks to Ss copy the new structure and meaning into their notebook. . -T – Ss, Ss – T - T asks Ss work in pair to practice the 4 pictures in page 30. - Then T calls some pair to read aloud. - Ss give feedback. - T gives a paper for class and introduces the rule of game + T plays music, sts pass paper around the classroom. + T stops music, st hold paper asks the question and their pair answers the question. + T shows any pictures of 7 pictures and sts hold paper ask and answer the question of these pictures. - Sts listen and play this game. - T and the class will decide the winner. 2’ III. Homelink - Learn the vocabulary and structure by heart - Prepare the new lesson (lesson 1: 3, 4, 5 p31) - T writes the homelink on the board. - T reads all the activities. - Ss copy down into their notebook.
