Cô Blake, một đại diện của " những người bạn cùa Trái tìẩt", đang nói chuyện với học sinh trường Quang Trung. "Những người bạn của Trái Đất" chỉ cho mọi người cách bảo vệ môi truờng và tiết kiệm tài nguyên thiên nhiên.
Cô Blake: Việc tái sử dụng rất dễ. Các em hãy nhớ ba từ này: giảm bớt. dùng
lại và tái sứ dụng.
Ba: Cô nói đúng. Cũng không khó để nhớ vì cả ba từ đều bắt đầu bằng
chữ cái R. Cô cỏ thể cho chúng em biết cô muốn nói gì không cô Blake?
Cô Blake: Được chứ. Cô rất vui khi em muốn biết rõ hơn. “Giảm bớt” có nghĩa là không nên mua các sản phẩm được đóng gói, chẳng hạn như áo sơ mi và tất ngẳn có vật liệu đóng gói bằng giấy và nhựa.
Hoa: Em nghĩ là em biết chúng ta có thể dùng lại các thứ gì.
Cô Blake: Em có thể cho cả lớp biết không?
Hoa: Chúng ta có thể dùng lại những thứ như phong bì, chai nhựa và chai thủy tinh, và túi xách bằng nhựa cũ.
Cô Blake: Đúng vậy. Nhưng thay vì dùng lại các túi xách bằng nhựa thì chúng ta không nên dùna chúng. Chúng ta nên dùng túi xách bằng vải.
Lan: Có phải qua đó cô muốn nói đến “tái sừ dụng" không ạ?
Cô Blake: Phải. Các em không nên vứt bỏ các thứ đi. Hãy thừ tìm cách khác để sử dụng chúng.
Lan: Nói thi dễ cô Blake ạ. nhưng mà chúng ta làm thế nào?
Cô Blake: Các em hãy liên lạc với một tổ chức nào đó như “Những người bạn cùa Trái Đất" chẳng hạn để biết thêm về thông tin, đến thư viện địa phương hoặc hòi gia đình và bạn bè của mình.

a. What type of garbage can you put in the compost?
Today I’m going to explain how to start a compost heap. First of all, you must use only vegetable matter includes tea leaves, egg shells - but wash the shells first - and tissues. Don't use any meat or grain products because this attracts rats.
b. Where is the best place for a compost heap?
Find a place in your garden that gets a few hours of sunlight each day. Use pick or shovels to turn the compost regularly so it gets plenty of air.
c. Should you water the compost?
The compost also needs moisture, but it will get this from condensation. Cover the heap with a sheet of strong plastic if the weather is very wet.
d. How long does it take before you can use the compost?
Keep adding to the pile and after about six months, your compost will be ready to use as fertilizer.

Và số tiền đặt cọc này chỉ được hoàn trả khi người ta mang người ta mang những loại lon này trả lại để tái sử dụng
 Chai                                
Ở Anh, người đưa sữa mang sữa đến cho các gia đình và lấy lại chai không. Sau đó chai không được rửa sạch và làm đầy lại. Cứ mỗi chai sữa được sử dụng lại ba mươi lần.
Thủy tinh    
Trong công nghiệp, phần lớn thủy tinh tái sử đều được tái sử dụng. Thúy tinh được thu thập và gửi đến các nhà máy. Ở đó thủy tinh được đập vụn ra, được nấu chảy và được làm thành đồ thùy tinh.
Phân xanh
Nông dân đã tải sử dụng chất thải trong hàng ngàn năm qua. Họ trồng      thức ăn cho động vật và dùng phân của chúng đế bón cho những cánh đồng cùa họ. Họ cũng thu thập các  chất thải ở trong nhà và trong vườn để làm phân xanh. Phân xanh là một loại phân tự nhiên tuyệt vời. Nó giúp cho cây trồng phát triển.
