Warmer (5’): Play the game of Simon says. Expressions to be used: Simon says touch your head (nose/ eyes/ ears .). Then discuss with sts common accidents which can happen to their body parts.
I. New lesson (25’)
1. Look, listen and repeat.
- Ask students to open their Student’s Book on P20. Get them to read the title and the pics to identify the characters and get their comments on the pics. Point to each pic, read the text and check sts’ comprehension.

- Ask sts to open their Student’s Book on P21. Draw their attention to the pics in each number. Then point to each pic to elicit sts’ responses to the information indicated by the pic. Explain the listening purpose: Look at the pics. You are going to listen and tick the appropriate pic. Point to the pics and elicit sts’ comment on what each character is doing.
- Play the recording twice.
- Replay the recording to check. Get them to correct their answers in pairs. Ask Sts to report the answers to the class, if there is disagreement on any answer, play the tape related to the part again.

Listen and read together - Draw sts’ attention to the pics and get them to comment the children’s actions. Set the context: You are going to hear a chant about parts of the body, pausing at times to check sts’ comprehension. - Say: You are going to hear the poem and clap the words: one clap for the words with “arm” pronounced as in “arm” and two claps for words with “ear” pronounced as in “ear”. - Read the poem, clapping.
