PART A. READING:
I. Objectives:
By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
-Know more about the development of the cinema from the old silent films to musicals.
-Learn some new words about films and cinema.
 -Read for gist and for specific information.
 -Know how to surmarize the passage.
 II. Time: 45’

-New words: still (a), motion (n), decade (n), rapidly (adv), character(n), audience(n), replace (v).

Warm-up:
T divide class into 4 groups.
-T shows the pictures and asks Ss guess what kinds of films are.
-After counting “1, 2, 3, go”, the fastest S who raises your hand will answer.
-The group has the most correct answers is the winner.

-Watch pictures carefully.

-T correct Ss’ mistakes and their pronunciation.
