 Lesson 1. Getting Started + Listen and Read
A. Aims: After the lesson, Sts will be able to: 
- know some words relating to describe a person.
- understand the dialogue and do the exercises that follow.
- talk about actions of Hoa, Lan and friends by using vocabulary, grammar in the lesson.
B. Language Contents:
	1. Vocabulary: seem, photograph, next-door neighbor….
	2. Grammar: - What + do/does + S + look like?
	 - S + be( not) + ad + enough + to + V(infix)
C. Teaching Aids: 
	Sub board, pictures, handout, work sheets, computer...
D. Teaching Methods:
	Listening skill and communication.
E. Procedures:
I. Class organization: number sets in the class.
II. Check old lesson.
Ask sets to stand up and introduce about sets themselves.
Such as: My name is………….
	 I am in grade ………..
	 I am …………………. 
Give some feedback and marks
III. New lesson
Warm up / Getting started :
T asks sets about their summer holiday.
Ex: I always play soccer in the afternoon everyday.
	 Or I review my object sometimes.
Sts look at the Getting Started and answer.
T asks: What are they doing?
- Sts work individually
- T checks the answers:
a – playing soccer	 c - playing chess
b – doing exercise 	d- playing volleyball
- Lead to new lesson.
Presentation.
Present the dialogue.
Play tape 2 times
Sts read after T.
Sts practice in pairs.
b. Present new words.
 - present the new words from using pictures. 
Seem (v): dường như	photograph (n): bức ảnh
Next-door neighbor (n): 	 meet (v): gặp 
 - Sts read new words after T.
 - rub out and check sets’ understanding.
c. Do exercise related to the dialogue.
 - ask Sts to look at the ex 2 in the text book and answer questions.

 Base on sentence in the dialogue to introduce structures: 
- Đủ/ không đủ để làm gì.
	Ex: She wasn’t strong enough to answer the difficult question.
- Hỏi ai đó trông như thế nào? 
Ex: What does your new teacher look like?
 She is beautiful.
3. a. Practice.
 Hỏi ai đó trông như thế nào? 
Ex: 	What does She look like?
Form: What + do/does + S + look like?
Meaning: hỏi ai đó trông như thế nào? 
Sts work in pairs: ask - answer
3. b.Practice.
 Đủ/ không đủ để làm gì.
Ex: She wasn’t old enough to be in my class
Form: S + be( not) + ad + enough + to + V(infix)
Meaning: ai đó đủ hay không đủ làm gì.
	Sts give some sentences- T corrects if have any mistake.
Consolidation.
 Retell:
	- What + do/does + S + look like?
	- S + be( not) + ad + enough + to + V(infix)	
 5. Homework. 
	Do ex 1 and 2 (p 5+6)
	Prepare “speak”

- ask sets for and respond to favors.
- give the advice and introductions.
- express obligation and offer and respond to assistance.
- talk about study habitant future plans, actions of Hoa, Lan and friends by using vocabulary, grammar in the lesson.
- improve their speaking skill.
B. Language Contents:
	1. Vocabulary: build, slim, bond, fair………..
	2. Grammar: - What + do/does + S + look like?
	 -> S + be + ad
C. Teaching Aids: 
	Sub board, pictures, magic dolls…………….
D. Teaching Methods:
	Speaking skill.
E. Procedures:
I. Class organization: number sets in the class.
II. Check old lesson.
One sts writes new words of last lesson.
Other do exercise 1 ( p 5)

III. New lesson
1. Warm up:
- Give some words: tall, not fat, black hair. 
Sts talk: T is a tall person.
	He is not fat.
	He has black hair.
- Lead to new lesson.
2 Before- Speaking.
In daily life, we always have to communicate with other people, in the period; we’ll describe a person’s appearance.
- ask Sts to look at the exercises 1 + 2 in the text book. Sts read quickly.
- T introduces some new words: 
	Build (n): cơ bắp	 Bold (a) hói
	Blond = fair (a) sáng	
	Straight (a) thẳng>< curly	Slim (a) mảnh mai
 - Read and repeat - rub out and check Sts’ understanding.
 - T depends on the period and then gives grammar.
 Ask a question about person’s appearance:
	- What + do/does + S + look like?
	-> S + be + adj
	Ex: What does she look like?
	-> She is slim and tall.
 3. While-Speaking
 - Play tape 2 times.
 - Sts read the dialogue.
 - Now Sts look at the ex 2 in the text book and ask + answer about Van with grammar to use ad about hair and build.
 - Sts work in pairs 
 - exchange the answers.
 - check the answers.
 S1: What does she look like? ->	S2: 	 He is tall and thin
	 His hair is short and black
 - Make the same Mr. Lai, Miss Lien, Mr Kha, Mary.

 4. After- Speaking
 - ask Sts to describe an appearance of T with a partner.
 - Sts work in pairs.

One St matches meaning of new words of the previous lesson.

III. New lesson
1. Warm up:
	- T gives a small paper with including.
Are you tall?
Are you fat?
Are you slim?
Are your eyes dark?
Do you have short black hair?
Who ticks in the quickest about answering is winner.
 - Lead to new lesson.
2 Before listening.
- T says: if you meet someone, what do you say?
	What do you do when you are introduced to someone?
- Today we’ll listen to introduction when meeting other.
- T reads one time and introduces some new words.
	Principal (n): hiệu trưởng 	cousin (n): con chú, con bác
* Review structure: 
Nice / pleased to meet/see you -> rất vui lòng được gặp bạn
How do you do? 	-> xin chào bạn
It’s a pleasure to meet you. 	-> rất vui lòng được gặp bạn
I’d like to meet…… 	-> tôi muốn gặp ……..
- Ask Sts to read quickly 4 dialogues in this period and Sts can guess which sentence is in the blank. 
 3. While listening
 - Play tape 3 times.
 - Sts read the dialogue quickly.
 - Sts fill in each blank by work individually.
 - Exchange the answers.
 - T checks the answers and gives the truth answers.

 - Play tape one time for Sts check the answers.
 4. After listening
