Objectives: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to: - Knowledge: Use lexical items related to community service & volunteer work know how to talk about health problems - Skills: Practice reading & speaking skills about community’ activities (Ind. PW, GW) - Attitude: Co-operation & more careful with caring of themselves II. Teaching aid: Textbook, pictures, colorful chalks … III. Methods: Communicative approach, audio-lingual method, 3p, ESA, lexical approach …. IV. Procedures Activities Contents Activity 1 (5 minutes) 1.Purpose : - This activity focuses students on recalling activities that people can do to help community 2.Instruction: - You make a list of activities related to community 3.Task : - Work in group to write as many activities as possible Group 1 Group 2 Planting trees, Helping old people, Activity 2 (15 minutes) 1.Purpose: ( Task 1,2) This activity focuses students on knowing more about community service 2.Instruction: - T can ask some brainstorm questions & introduce some words related to some community activities . Objectives: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to: - Knowledge: Use lexical items related to community service & volunteer works that they can do to help the people who need the help from the community service - Skills: Practice speaking & listening skills about community’ activities (Ind. PW, GW) - Attitude: Co-operation & more careful with caring of themselves II. Teaching aid: Textbook, pictures, colorful chalks … III. Methods: Communicative approach, audio-lingual method, 3p, ESA, lexical approach …. IV. Procedures Activities Contents Activity 1 (5 minutes) 1.Purpose : (task 1) - This activity focuses students on noticing the picture & the words to describe each picture 2.Instruction: - You make a list of people who need the help of community service & what difficulties these people face & what they need 3.Task : - Work in group / Ind Situation: Children in mountainous areas who do not have enough books. What difficulties do they face? What do they need? … Exe1. Matching: è 1. disable people 2. elderly people 3. homeless people 4. sick children 5. people in flooded areas Activity 2 (19 minutes) 1.Purpose : (task 2, 3) - This activity focuses students on speaking about the people in the situations & pictures 2.Instruction: - You discuss how you can help people in the situations in 1 - Write down which problems each community has to face - Present before class about the problems in 3a 3.Task : - Work in group/ pairs Situation: Children in mountainous areas who do not have enough books. What difficulties do they face? What do they need? … Exe1. Matching: è Exe2. Describing the people in 1 & how we can help them Ex. A. They are in a flooded area. They do not have enough food for 2 days. (They will run out of food in 2 days) B. Poor them! How do you think we can help them? A. I think we can donate noodles, canned food…and then send to them. B. We can help by using public transport Activity 3 (15 minutes) 1.Purpose : (task 4, 5, 6) -This activity focuses students on practicing listening to the sounds /g/ and /k/ 2.Instruction: - You listen & repeat the words have the sounds /g/ & /k/ - You listen & circle the words you hear - You listen & repeat the sentences 3.Task : - Repeat in chorus - Read again individually - You write down some words that have the sounds /g/ & /k/ Exe 5. è /g/: green, girl, goal /k/: cold, clothes *Some more words: go, close, cook, glass, … Activity 4 ( 3 minutes) 1.Purpose : (task 7 - game) - This activity focuses students on practicing the sound /g/ & /k/ 2.Instruction: - You play game: sit down: /k/; stand up: /g/ One st calls out 1 word from 4& group performs the action according to the sound they hear (textbook – page 29) 3.Task : - Work in group / Ind (free) Consolidation (2 minutes) Students practice saying again some activities they can do to help the community (as much as possible) Homework (1minutes) Learn new words Prepare : A closer look 2 Teacher’s remarks Date of preparing: 26/ 09/ 14 Date of teaching: 07/ 10/ 14 (class 7a4, 7a3, 7a1, 7a2) Period17.
