Lesson 2 (1 - 3)
A. Aim:
- By the end of this unit pupils can:
+ Use the words & phrases related to the topics weather.
+ Ask and answer questions about the seasons
* Skills:
- Develop Ss speaking and listening skills
* Language focus:
- Sentence Patterns: What’s .like in your country?

- Vocabulary: spring, summer, autunm, winter, wind, rain, .
* Teaching aids:
cards, picture, cassette/ computer (overhead)
B. Procedure:
I. Warm up:
Bingo game
- The class play bingo game: using the words for lesson 1 learnt. At the end of the game, ps ask & answer questions in the game.
II. New lesson:
1. Look, listen and repeat:
- Introduce the dialogue.
- Look at the pictures in the book guess what the story is about and point at each picture to elicit their answers to these questions .
- Play the recording
- Listen follow in their book.
- Ss listen and repeat in chorus two times.
- Read in group/ pair: One repeats Nam’s part, the other repeats Peter’s part.
- Check and corect.
- Elicits the new sentence
- Ss give new sentence:
What’s .like in your country? It’s usually.There is/are.
2. Point and say:
- Teach vocabulary
- Note write down new words and read after T.
Play game: What and where ( Whole class)
- Look and find out the model sentences.
- Model sentence.
- Point the pictures & practise asking & answering question:
What’s .like in your country? It’s usually.There is/are
- Monitor the activity and offer help, if necessary.
2 - 3 pairs perform their task at the front of the class. The rest of the class observe and give comments.

Aim: By the end of this unit pupils can - Use the words and phrases related to the topics Weather and seasons. - Ask and answer questions about the weather, using: What will the weather be like tomorrow? - It will be ... and ... - Develop Ss speaking and listening skills. - Ss look after , solve problems and study themselves. - Studious and obedient students and love their hometown, family and friends. * Languages focus: - Sentence Pattners: What will the weather be like tomorrow? - It will be ... and ... - Vocabulary: snowy, foggy, warm, cool, cold, hot, stormy, forecast * Teaching aids: Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, pictures, cassette. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks. B. Procedure: I. Warm up: Play game The class play game: Slap the board, using the words: rainy, sunny, cloudy, windy, weather, sun, cloud.... II. New lesson: 1. Look, listen and repeat: - Introduce the dialogue - Look at the pictures to identify the characters(Linda and the broadcaster) and the context in the book guess what the story is about and point at each picture to elicit their answers to these questions. - Play the recording - Listen follow in their book. - Ss listen and repeat in chorus two times. - Read in group/ pair: One repeats the question’s part, the other repeats the answer’s part. - Ss give new sentence: What will the weather be like tomorrow? - It will be ... and ... Aim: - By the end of the lesson Ps will be able to further practice: - Use the words and phrases related to the topics Weather and seasons. - Ask and answer questions about the weather * Skills: - Develop Ss speaking and listening skills * Language focus: What will the weather be like tomorrow? - It will be ... and ... * Teaching aids: Teacher’s: computer (overhead) B. Procedure: I. Warm up: Netwwork cold Weather hot windy sunny II. New lesson: 1. Listen and circle a, b or c: - Have pupils read the questions and answers given - Tell sts that they are going to the recording and circle the words to complete the sentences. - Play CD all the way through for them to listen - Play again for them to circle the words - Have sts swap and check their answers before checking as a class. Then ask the class to say the sentences aloud - Give feedback *Key: 1. b 2. a 3. c 2. Read and complete: - Tell sts that they are going to complete the dialogue with the 5 words given. - Give sts few mins to read the dialogue in silence. - Check comprehension and give feedback. - Give sts time to do the task and go around and offer help if necessary - Get sts to work in pairs. - Get sts to swap and check their answers before checking as a class. - Divide the class into two groups and get them to read aloud the dialogue * Key: 1. go 2. weather 3. stormy 4. forecast 5. watch - Have sts read aloud the dialogue III. Lesson 2 (4 - 6) A. Aim: - By the end of the lesson Ps will be able to practice: + ask and answer questions about the seasons. * Skills: - Develop Ss speaking and listening skills * Language focus: - Sentence Patterns: - What’s like in your country? + It’s usually There is/are * Teaching aids: Overhead B. Procedure: I. Warm up: Play the game “Pass the ball” - Model: What’s summer like? + It’s usually hot and sunny. There is/ are a lot of flowers. II. New lesson: 1. Listen and write one words in each blank: - Have sts to look at the table with seasons and weather given - Elicit the names of words in each line - Give instruction. - Play the recording twice for pupils listen and write the words into blanks - Ask sts to compare the answers with the partner. - Play the recording again for sts to check their answers. - Announce the answers. - Ask some questions to ensure sts’ comprehension of the listening text. *Key: 1. wind 2. winter 3. snow 4. hot 5. rain 2. Write about your favorite season and the weather. - Tell sts that they are going to write about your favorite season and weather - Have sts read the questions and check their understanding. - Check comprehension and give feedback. - Give sts time to do the task and go around and offer help if necessary - Get sts to swap and check their answers before checking as a class. - Give feedback * Suggested answer: My favourite season is summer. Let’s sing: The weather song - Show the song “Healthy eating and drinking” - Have sts look at the pictures and give some ideas - Read the lyrics - Check comprehension - Play the recording the song all the way through - Have sts repeat each line of the lyrics a few times - Have sts sing along - Have sts practice singing and acting in groups - Call some groups sing aloud and do actions III.
