- Listen and speak well.

C. Resources: handmade puppets, robot-teacher, photographs of students

D. Procedure:

I. Warm up:

- Ask sts to sing the song” fun action”

- Comment.

- Lead in the new lesson.

II. New lesson.

1. Look, listen and repeat

Unit 5: Can you swim?
Lesson 1: Part 1, 2
A. Object: By the end of the lesson, sts will be able to:
- Use the words and phrases related to the topics: Things we can do.
- Ask and answer about what someone can or cannot do.
B. Language focus: 
- Vocabulary: can, skip, ride, cook..
- Sentence patterns: What can you do? I can..
C. Resources: handmade puppets, robot-teacher, photographs of students
D. Procedure:
I. Warm up: 
- Let sts to look mand listen to the video: Fun action.
- Have sts to sing along the video and guess the topic today.
- Lead in the new lesson.
II. New lesson
1. Look, listen and repeat.
- Run through and set the sense.
- Give instruction.
- Play the recording all the way through.
- Replay the recording for sts listen and repeat.
- Divide class into 2 groups and ask them to play roles.
- Ask sts to do further practice in pairs.
- Check to make sure that sts can repeat and understand the dialogues(provide some words: draw a cat, dance, sing)
 2. Look and say
- Ask sts to look at the pictures a, b, c and d.
- Run through some words: skip, skate, cook, swim.
- Use handmade puppets to teach: What can you do? I can..	
- Model the structure: T-sts; sts-T; S1-S2 
- Have sts to look at the pictures and do the task in groups.
- Move around to offer help.
- Call on some pairs to perform the task.
III. Reinforcement:
- Call sts to tell about things the can do with their friends.
- Comment.
IV. Homelink
- Ask sts to do exercises in their workbook.

Period: 26. 	
Unit 5: Can you swim?
Lesson 1: Part 3, 4, 5
A. Object: By the end of the lesson, sts will be able to:
- Ask and answer about what someone can do.
- Develop listening and speaking skills.
B. Language focus: 
- Vocabulary: Review.
- Sentence patterns: Review.
C. Resources: handmade puppets, robot-teacher, photographs of students
D. Procedure:
I. Warm up: 
* Game: Mime
- Guide sts to play the game to find the words: use a computer, draw, ride a bike, play the piano, speak English. 
- Lead in the new lesson.
II. New lesson
1. Listen and tick
 - Run through.
- Ask sts to look at the pictures and guess what are they doing.
- Play the recording for sts to listen all the way through.
- Let sts liste again and tick the correct pictures.
- Play the recording again for sts to check their answers.
- Give feedback.

2. Look and write.
- Have sts look at the picures on page 31.
- Ask sts what they have to do in this task.
- Ask them to discuss and complete the blanks.
- Call someone to write on the board.
- Check and correct mistakes.
* Key: 1.dance 2.skate 3.swim 4.cycle
3. Let’s play.
- Tell sts they are going to play guessing game.
- Stick pics of a dog, a fish, a parrot on the board.
- Point to thepicture and ask some questions about the animal(What’s this animal? What can it do? Can it swim?)
- Divide sts into groups of 5 to play the game then give instruction:
+ A st in one group say two sentence about one of animals, using can or can’t, then ask what it is.(eg: It can swim but it can’t walk what is it?). The st of other group will answer. The group that gives the right answer the quickest gets one point..
III. Reinforcement: 
- Recall the lesson.

- Ask sts to do exercises in their workbook.

II. New lesson.
1. Look, listen and repeat
- Ask sts to open the book on page 32.
- Run through and set the scene.
- Give instruction.
- Open the cassette all the way through.
- Ask sts to listen again and repeat the dialogue.
- Divide the class into 2 groups and ask them to play a role.
- Have sts to do further practice in pairs.
- Give feedback.
- Provide some new words for sts to make a sense of the dialogue: help, visit.
- Elicit the sentence pattern from sts:
+ Can you __________?
 	 Yes, I can. No, I can’t. (can’t = cannot) 
- Give examples.
2. Practice
- Ask sts to turn to part 2 and look at the pictures.
- Run through.
- Give instruction.
- Make model the pattern: T – St; St – T; S1 – S2.
- Let sts practise in pairs with the given informatin, then practise freely using two sentence patterns that they have learnt.
- Move around to offer help.
- Call on some pairs to report.
- Comment.
III. Reinforcement
- Give feedback.
IV. Homelink
- Ask sts to learn new words by heart and practise the sentence pattern.

Period: 28 	
 Unit 5: Can you swim?
Lesson 2: Part 4, 5, 6
A. Aim: By the end of the lesson, sts will be able to:
- Listen and write for specific information.
- Sing the song in part 4.
B. Language focus: 
- Vocabulary: Review.
C. Resources: handmade puppets, robot-teacher, photographs of greeting.
D. Procedure:
I. Warm up: 
- Check the old lesson.
- Comment.
- Lead in the new lesson.
II. New lesson.
1. Listen and number
- Let sts guess what are they going to do.
- Give instruction.
- Ask them to elicit the pictures.
- Play the recording all the way through for sts to listen.
- Replay for sts to listen and tick.
- Play once more times for sts to check their answers.
- Ask sts to compare with their partners.
- Call on some sts to report.
- Give feedback.

2. Look and write
- Ask sts to look at the table and tell what are they going to do.
- Give instruction.
- Remind sts to write the initial letter of the word of the days in capital letters.
- Allow sts time to do the task independently.
- Go around to offer help if necessary.
- Correct, remark and give keys.

3. Let’s sing.
- Introduce the song.
- Play the recording all the way through.
- Replay twice for sts to listen and sing.
