C. Resources: handmade puppets, robot-teacher, photographs of students
D. Procedure:
I. Warm up:
- Let sts play the game: “Find someone who” on page 14.
- Lead in the new lesson.
II. New lesson
1. Listen and repeat
- Have sts to open the book page 16, draw their attention to the letters colored differently in the words Japan and Vietnamese.
- Produce the sound of the letter J and V
- Have sts repeat the focused sounds a few times.
- Play the recording twice and ask Ss to repeat
- Monitor the activity and offer help when necessary/ correct typical pronunciation errors.
- Call on someone to pronounce.
- Have the whole class recite the chant to reinforce their pronunciation.
2. Listen and tick. Then say aloud.
- Ask sts to turn to Page 16 of the Student Book.
- Give instruction.
- Play the tape twice.
- Ask them to listen and write the answers.
- Call someone to write on the board, check sts’ notebook.
- Check and correct mistakes.
- Ask Ss to say aloud these words.
3. Let’s chant

Objects: By the end of the lesson, sts will be able to: - Use the words and phrases related to the topics: “countries and nationality” - Ask and answer questions about one’s nationality. B. Language focus: - Vocabulary: Japanese, Vietnamese, English, Australian, Malaysian. - Sentence patterns: What nationality are you?. I’m from Vietnamese. C. Resources: handmade puppets, robot-teacher, photographs of students D. Procedure: I. Warm up: Vietnam America Country * Game: Brainstorming Japan Australia - Lead in the new lesson. II. New lesson 1. Look, listen and repeat - Ask sts to look at the pictures on page 14. - Run through. - Give instruction. - Play the recording all the way through for sts to listen, and point to the appropriate line in their books. - Play the recording again for sts to repeat the lines in the speech bubbles. Repeat the step a few times. - Practise with sts. - Divide the class into 2 groups to play a role. - Ask sts to practise in pairs. - Go round and check sts to be able to repeat and understand the dialogue. 2. Point and say - Have pupils look at pictures. - Run through. - Use flashcards to teach the question and answer in the speech bubbles. Have sts repeat the phrases a few times. What nationality are you? I’m Japanese. - Give instruction. - Point to each character in the picture and elicit the name and the words to fill the gaps. - Write the whole sentences on the board. - Have sts to repeat the sentences a few times. - Repeat the procedure with the second picture. - Ask sts work in pairs. - Call some pairs to practise in front of the class. - Check sts’ mistakes when necessary. - Make a few questions to check pupils’ comprehension of the language. - Have the whole class repeat all the phrases in chorus to reinforce their pronunciation. 3. Let’s talk. - Run through. - Give instruction. - Draw the sts’ attention to the pictures and elicit the language that the characters might use. - Ask sts to practice as the model. - Get sts to work in pairs. - Call a few pairs to practise in front of the class. - Check sts’ pronunciation. Objects: By the end of the lesson, sts will be able to: - Use the words and phrases related to the topics: “countries and nationality” - Ask and answer questions about one’s nationality. - Develop listening and writing skills. B. Language focus: - Vocabulary: Japanese, Vietnamese, English, Australian, Malaysian. - Sentence patterns: What nationality are you?. I’m from Vietnamese. C. Resources: handmade puppets, robot-teacher, photographs of students D. Procedure: I. Warm up: Chinese, Japan, Vietnam, America, Vietnamese, Japanese, Australia *Game: Kim’s game - Give a piece of paper contains 9 words for sts to look through in 2 minutes. - Ask sts to remember the words without taking notes. - Call on some sts to write down the words they remember. - Give feedback. - Lead in the new lesson. II. New lesson. 1. Listen and number - Run through. - Give instruction. - Play the tape all the way through for sts to listen. - Ask sts to listen again and number. - Ask sts to compare with their partners. - Call on some sts to check their answers. - Give feedback by opening the tape once and check. Warm up: - Get sts to sing the chant: Where are you from? - Reinforce sts’ pronunciation. - Lead in the new lesson. II. New lesson 1. Read and complete. - Run through. - Tell sts what are they going to do. - Set a time limit for sts to do the task independently. - Walk around moitoring ad offering help. - Get sts to swap their answers. - Comment.
