Unit 14: Are there any posters in the room?
Lesson 2: 4 - 6
A. Objectives: By the end of the period, Ps can be practiced more in asking and answering about the quantity of things in a room, using How many+ thing (plural)+ are there?
Skills: Listening and reading, writing.
Tasks: Listen and number, Read and write and Let’s play.
B. Teaching aids: recordings.
C. Procedures:
I.Warm up:
- Greeting and using the picture in section 3 (page 26) and have some pairs to ask and answer about the quantity of the things in the picture, using How many+ thing (plural)+ are there?- There are + number.
II.New lesson:
4. Listen and number.
- Tell Ps that they are going to listen and number the correct boxes. Give a few seconds for Ps to look at the pictures and identify the things and their quantity in the picture Check understanding and give feedback.
- Play the recording three times for Ps to listen, do the task and check their answers.
- Get Ps to swap and check their answers before checking as a class.
Audio script:
This is my bedroom. There’s a bed in her room. There’s a desk. There are two chairs. There’s also a TV on the desk, but there aren’t any wardrobes in my bedroom.
- Get Ps to swap and check their answers before checking as a class.

5. Read and write.
- Tell Ps that they are going to read the text and answer the questions. Give a few seconds for Ps to read the text in silence. Check comprehension and explain the new vocabulary. Ask Ps to read each question and underline the keywords. Then read the text to scan for the answers. Discuss the first question with Ps and give the answer as an example.
- Give Ps time to do the task.
- Get Ps to swap and check their answers before checking as a class then ask them to read the questions and the answers aloud.
- Write the correct answers on the board for Ps to correct other’s answer.

- Call individual Ps to read the sentences aloud.
Monday, March 8th 2021 Week:24 Period:91 Unit 14: Are there any posters in the room? Lesson 2: 1 - 3 A. Objectives: By the end of the lesson, Ps will be able to ask and answer questions about the quantity of things in a room, using How many+ thing (plural)+ are there? Skills : Listening and talking. Task: Look, listen and repeat; point and say; Let’s talk B. New language: Vocabulary: door, mirror, window, fan. Sentence patterns: How many chairs are there? There are six. C. Procedures: I. Warm up: - Have Ps to play the game Bingo Words: cupboard, wardrobe, wall, desk, chair, picture, poster, TV, table, map, sofa, bed, ball. - Tell Ps that they are going to practise asking and answering the questions about the quantity of things in a room, using How many+ thing (plural) + are there? II.New lesson: 1. Look, listen and repeat. - Give a few seconds for Ps to look at the first picture and elicit the name of the characters and what they say. - Ask Ps to repeat the text a few times. Repeat the procedure with the second picture. - Do choral and individual repetition, pointing to the characters speaking. - Play the recording for Ps to listen and say along line by line. Sentence patterns: How many chairs are there? There are six. - Make clear the usage of How many (To ask about the quantity of things). 2. Point and say. - Tell Ps that they are going to practise asking and answering the questions about the quantity of things in a room, using How many+ thing (plural) + are there? - Point to each picture and elicit the meaning of new words. door, mirror, window, fan. - Have Ps to listen and repeat each of the words a few times. - Give a few seconds for Ps to look at the first picture and read the text. Point to picture a and prompt Ps to say the question and answer. Put the question and answer on the board and have Ps repeat each of them a few times. Repeat the procedure with the rest. There are two. - Have Ps repeat the example a few times. - Do choral and individual repetition, using the pictures in the book. - Get Ps to practise in pairs, replacing maps by given words in the pictures. - Check as a class. Give a few seconds for Ps to look at the picture and read the text. Check their understanding and give feedback. Point to a room and elicit the word filling the gap. Put the question and the answer on the board and have a pair act out the dialogue as an example before starting the activity. Put the sentence on the board and do choral and individual repetition. Example: How many chairs are there? There are four - Have Ps work in pairs, using the picture in the book. Go around to offer help and correct the pronunciation, If necessary. - Call some pairs to act out the dialogue in front of the class. D. Homelink. Objectives: By the end of the period, Ps can pronounce the sound of the letters a in the words fan and u in the word cup respectively. Skills: Listening, writing and chanting. Tasks: Listen and repeat; Listen and write; Let’s chant. B. New language: Phonics : / a/; /u/. C. Procedures: I.Warm up: II.New lesson: 1. Listen and repeat: . Tell Ps that they are going to practice saying the letters, words and sentences in the book. Put the phonics letters a and u on the board and say them a few times. Ask Ps to listen and repeat. Prompt Ps to say the words fan, cup and sentences There’s the fan on the wall and There’s cup on the table paying attention to the target phonics letters. Do the choral repetition of the words and sentences until Ps feel confident. 2. Listen and write. - T tells Ps that they are going to do a dictation. Give Ps a few seconds to read the text in silence before starting the dictation. - Have Ps swap and check their answers before checking as a class.T writes the correct answers on the board for Ps to copy down into their notebooks. - Get Ps work in pairs to practice saying the sentences. Key : 1.cup 2. fan Audio script. 1. Where’s the cup? 2. Where’s the fan? 3. Let’s chant. - Tell Ps that they are going to say the How many desks? chant. Teach the chant. - Play the recording through for Ps to listen. - Read each line of the chant and have Ps repeat it a few times. Show them how to say the chant and do the actions. - Note to the sound of s after lamp/map/desk. - Ask groups of Ps to sit face to face and practise chanting and doing the actions. Go around to offer help, if necessary. - Call two groups to the front of the class to chant and do the actions. The rest of the class claps along to the rhythm. D. Homelink.- Practise chanting and doing the actions. Friday, March 12th 2021 Week:24 Period:94 Unit 14: Are there any posters in the room? Lesson 2: 4 - 6 A. Aim: By the end of the lesson, Ps will be able to apply learnt sentence stuctures and vocabulary for reading and writing about things in the room. Skills : reading and writing. Tasks : Read and circle; Read and write; Project. B. Procedures : I.Warm up: Have Ps to say and act out the How many desks? chant. II.Newlesson: 4. Read and circle - Tell Ps that they are going to read the sentences and circle the correct words. Give them a few seconds to read the text in silence. Check comprehension and give feedback. - Elicit the words to circle. Circle the first gap as an example. 1. (Is/Are) there any cupboards in the living room? - Give time for Ps to do the task. - Tell Ps to swap and check their answers before checking as a class. - Call some Ps to read the passage. - Write the answers on the board for Ps to copy down into their notebooks. - Key: 1 Are 2. ( There are three) - Tell Ps that they are going to read the text and fill the gaps with the appropriate words. - Give time for Ps to do the task. Go around to help, if necessary. - Tell Ps to swap and check their answers before checking as a class. - Write the answers on the board for Ps to copy down into their notebooks. Key: 1. Is, 2. There are two then report their work to the class. Check understanding. Get a group of four to give a demonstration of the interview before starting the activity. - Give Ps time to do the project in the class. Get Ps to work in groups. Go around to offer help, if necessary. - Call a few Ps to the front of the class to report their work. - Have Ps stick their notes on the wall of the classroom for display. - Have the class sing the song The way I clean my house and say the How many desks?
