 Lesson 3: 1 - 3

A. Objectives: By the end of the period, Ps can pronounce the sound of the leters ch and th in the words kitchen and bathroom respectively.

Skills: Listening, writing and chanting.

Tasks: Listen and repeat; Listen and write; Let’s chant.

B. New language:

Phonics : / ch/; /th/.

Vocabulary: behind

C. Procedures:

I.Warm up: Checking old lesson

II.New lesson:

1. Listen and repeat:

. Tell Ps that they are going to practice saying the letters, words and sentences in the book. Put the phonics letters ch and th on the board and say them a few times. Ask Ps to listen and repeat. Prompt Ps to say the words kitchen, bathroom and sentences This is the kitchen and Is there a bathroom? paying attention to the target phonics letters. Do the choral repetition of the words and sentences until Ps feel confident.

2. Listen and write.

- T tells Ps that they are going to do a dictation. Give Ps a few seconds to read the text in silence before starting the dictation.

- Have Ps swap and check their answers before checking as a class.T writes the correct answers on the board for Ps to copy down into their notebooks.

 - Get Ps work in pairs to practice saying the sentences.

 1. The bathroom is large.

3. Let’s chant.

- Tell Ps that they are going to say the Is there a garden? chant. Teach the chant.

- Play the recording through for Ps to listen.

- Note to the prep behind and give its meaning.

- Read each line of the chant and have Ps repeat it a few times. Show them how to say the chant and do the actions.

- Ask goups of Ps to sit face to face and practise chanting and doing the actions. Go around to offer help, if necessary.

- Call two groups to the front of the class to chant and do the actions. The rest of the class claps along to the rhythm.

D. Homelink.

- Practise chanting and doing the actions.

 Lesson 2: 1 - 3 
A.Objectives: By the end of the lesson, Ps will be able to use the words and phrases related to the topic My house to describe a house, using Is there a + ( house facility)?- Yes, there is./ No, there isn’t.
Skills : Listening and talking.
Task: Look, listen and repeat; point and say; Let’s talk
B. New language:
Vocabulary: fence, pond, gate, yard.
Sentence patterns: Is there a gadern?
 Yes, there is./ 
 Is there a fence? 
 No, there isn’t.
C. Procedures:
 I.Warm up: Sing the song This is the way I clean my house.
 II.New lesson:
1. Look, listen and repeat.
- Tell Ps that they are going to practise asking and answering the questions about house facilities using Is there a + ( house facility)?- Yes, there is./ No, there isn’t.
. Give a few seconds for Ps to look at the first picture and read the text in silence. Check comprehension and give feedback . Give the meaning of unfamiliar words: fence, there is. Ask Ps to repeat the text a few times. Repeat the procedure with the second picture.
- Do choral and individual repetition, pointing to the charaters speaking.
- Play the recording for Ps to listen and say along line by line.
Sentence patterns: Is there a gadern?
 Yes, there is./ 
 Is there a fence? 
 No, there isn’t.
2. Point and say.
- Tell Ps that they are going to practise asking and answering the questions about house facilities using Is there a + ( house facility)?- Yes, there is./ No, there isn’t. Point to each picture and elicit the meaning of new words.

- Have Ps to listen and repeat each of the words a few times. 
- Give a few seconds for Ps to look at the first picture and read the text. Point to picture a and prompt Ps to say the question and answer. Put the question and answer on the board and have Ps repeat each of them a few times. Repeat the procedure with the rest. 
Example: 
 Picture a: Is there a garden? Yes, there is. 
 Is there a fence? No, there isn’t.
- Have Ps repeat the example a few times.
- Do choral and individual repetition, using the pictures in the book.
- Get Ps to practise in pairs. Check as a class.
Note: There is not = there isn’t.
Raising tone in the questions and falling in the answers.
3. Let’s talk. Tony’s house
- Tell Ps that they are going to practise more with their friends. Give a few seconds for Ps to look at the picture and read the text. Check their understanding and give feedback. Point to a room and elicit the word filling the gap. Put the sentence and the response on the board and have a pair act out the dialogue as an example before starting the activity. Put the sentence on the board and do choral and individual repetition.
Example: Is there a garden? Yes, there is. 
 Is there a fence? No, there isn’t.
- Have Ps work in pairs, Using the picture in the book. Go around to offer help and correct the pronounciation, If necessary.
- Call some pairs to act out the dialogue in front of the class.

 Lesson 2. 4 - 6
A. Objectives: By the end of the period, Ps can use learned language to develop listening, reading and writing skills about house facilities.
Skills: Listening, reading and writing.
Tasks: Listen and number, Read and complete and write about your house.
B. New language: 
 Vocabulary: tree, in front of.
C. Procedures :
 I.Warm up : Play the game Bingo.(house facilities).
Fence, kitchen, living room, gate, dining room, bed room, pond, bathroom,garden.
Ps choose five words.
II.New lesson:
4. Listen and number.
- Tell Ps that they are going to listen and number the pictures. Give few seconds for Ps to look at the pictures. Check comprehension and give feedback. Elicit the names of the things in the pictures. 
- Play the recording three times for Ps to listen, do the task and check their answers.
- Get Ps to swap and check their answers before checking as a class.
Audio script:
1. Tony: This is my house. 
 Phong: Oh, it’s nice. And there ‘s a very big tree next to it.
2. Phong: Is there a pond?
 Tony: Yes, there is. Come and see it.
 Phong: Wow! What a nice pond!
3. Phong: Is there a gate?
 Tony: Yes, there is.
4. Phong: That’s a nice fence around the house.
 Tony: Thank you.

5. Read and complete: 
- Tell Ps that they are going to read the text and fill the gaps. Give a few seconds for - Ps to look at the pictures ; read the text and the given words.
- Checkcomprehension and give feedback.
- Give Ps time to do the task. 
- Get Ps to swap and check their answers before calling different individuals to read the sentences aloud.
- Write the correct answers on the board for Ps to correct other’s answer.

- Call individual Ps to read the text aloud.
6. Write about your house.
 - Tell Ps that they are going to answer some questions about their own house. Give Ps a few seconds to read the questions. Call a P and ask him/ her the first two questions as examples.
 - Give Ps time to do the task. Go around to offer help, if necessary.
- Get a few Ps to read their answers in front of the class. Then call a few ps to write their answers on the board and correct their spelling, grammartical errors, if necessary.

- Complete your writing on your notebook.

 Lesson 3: 4 – 6
 A. Aim: By the end of the lesson, Ps will be able to apply learnt sentence stuctures and vocabulary for reading and writing about activities. 
Skills : reading and writing.
Tasks : Read and match; Look, read and write; Project.
B. Procedures :
 I.Warm up: Have Ps to say and act out the Is there a garden? chant.
II.New lesson:
4. Read and write.
- Tell Ps that they are going to read the text and fill the gaps with appropriate words. Give them a few seconds to read the text. Check comprehension and give feedback. 
- Elicit the words to fill in the gaps. Fill the first gap as an example.
- Give time for Ps to do the task.
- Tell Ps to swap and check their answers before checking as a class.
- Call some Ps to read the passage.
 - Write the answers on the board for Ps to copy down into their notebooks.
Key: 1.house. 2. garden

5. Read again and write the answers.
- Tell Ps that they are going to read the text again and write the answers to the questions.
- Give time for Ps to do the task. Go around to help, if necessary.
- Tell Ps to swap and check their answers before checking as a class.
- Write the answers on the board for Ps to copy down into their notebooks.
 Questions Answers
1. Is Mai’s house small? No, it isn’t.
2.What colour is the gate? It’s blue.
3. Is there a garden? Yes, there is.
4. Is there a pond in the garden? Yes, there is.
5. Is there a yard? No, there isn’t.
6. Project. 
.Tell Ps that they are going to draw and colour a picture of their house, lable the rooms and present it to the class. 
- Get Ps to prepare necessary school things to carry out the project ( colour pencils, craons, paper).
-Give Ps time to do the project in the class. Get Ps to work in groups. Go around to offer help,if necessary.
-If theree isn’t enough time , ask Ps to do the project at home as homework.
-Call a few Ps to the front the class to show their pictures and describe them.
Eg: This is my house. This is the living room. It is green. There’s a kitchen in the house. It’s large. 
- Have Ps to sing the song The way I clean my house or say the Is there a garden to end the class. Have Ps ask and answer the questions, using Who’s this? How old is he?

- Write part 5 on your notebooks.
