I. OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, ss will be able to distinguish the sounds / ∫r/, /spl/ and /spr/ and understand the use of Relative clauses replaced by participles and to- infinitives.

I. WARM UP Pictures
- T shows the pictures and asks ss to give the name of each and write on the board
- T underlines the vowel- sounds to help ss recognize the sounds

- T introduce 3 sounds and the lesson.
II. PRESENTATION 
Activity 1 Pronunciation
- T gives some words have the sound / ∫r/, /spl/ and /spr/ and asks ss to read out loud in class

- T asks ss to practice the sentences in the textbook at home
Activity 2 Relative clause replaced by participles and
to-infinitive
- T shows the picture and situation and asks these questions.
- T helps ss understand the use of Relative clauses replaced by participles and to- infinitives.

- T asks ss to do the exercise 1
1. The boy who is playing the piano is Ben.
2. Do you know the woman who is coming towards us?
3. The people who are waiting for the bus in the rain are getting wet.
4. The scientists who are researching the causes of cancer are making progress.

Notes: 
1. Present Participle:
Relative Pronoun + V = V-ing
Relative Pronoun + be + V-ing = V-ing
(The verb in the relative clause is in active form)
Past participle
Relative Pronoun + be + PII = PII
(The verb in the relative clause is in passive form)
2. When the Relative Clause follows the first/second/third/../last only+ N/pronoun or the superlative degree of Adj
