Lesson 58:Getting started + Listen and read
I. Objective

-get to know and use new words about weather
-understand the information in a weather forescast

Content
I.Warm up ( 5 mins ) 
-T guides ss to play a game named”Guessing picture” in 2 groups
- T elicits from ss to introduce the topic of Unit 9 “NATURAL DISASTERS”
II.Presentation(15mins)
*Teach new words
-T introduces some new words by showing the pictures and giving examples
-T guides ss to read new words
-T calls some ss to read new words aloud
*Vocabulary practice:Matching
-T asks ss to match the picture to the correct words in pairs
-T calls some ss to read aloud their answers
-T gives feedback
*Teach model sentences
T gives examples to introduce the model sentences
-T sets the scene:” Thuy and her grandma are watching a weather forecast on TV.Now look at the book and listen to the tape.”
III.Practice(20mins)
-T asks ss to listen to the tape and repeat
-T asks ss to practice the dialogue in a group of three.
-T calls some groups to present before class
-T asks ss to work in pairs to complete exersice b on page 75
-T calls some ss to read aloud their complete sentences in front of class.
-T asks ss to play a game: Lucky number in 2 groups
IV. Production(5mins)
-T asks ss to work in pairs to write a weather forecast for the following day in Viet Nam with some pictures of the weather given
-T calls some groups to present before class
-T gives feedback
