- Explain to write a personal letter: 
 -Ask Ss to read the outline of the letter.
- Gives the students some questions and asks them to answer in pairs.
1.Where did you visit?
2.When did you arrive?
3.Who met you at the airport/bus/train station?
4.What have you done?
-Which places have you visited?
-Who have you met?
-What kinds of food have you eaten?
-What have you bought?
5.How do you feel now?
6.What do you think interest most?
7.When are you returning home?
- Calls one or two students to tell about their trips.
- Reminds the students of the format of a personal letter by asking the question:
-Get Ss to work in pairs.

I arrived at Giap Bat station at 10am on Sunday. Lan met me at the bus station, then she took me home by bicycle. 
I’ve visited to many places like Hoan Kiem lake, Van Mieu, President Ho Chi Minh’s mausoleum and Ho Tay water park. I’ve tried “BunCha”. It’s delicious. Tomorrow, Lan will take me to The Ancient Quarter of HaNoi and do shopping there. I’ll buy some souvenirs for you.
I fell so happy and enjoy myself very much. The people here are so friendly. The sights are so beautiful. I will leave Ha Noi next week.
Please pick me up at the bus station at 2pm on Thursday.

- Explain the task.
- Set up the scene.
- Have Ss read the model dialogue.
- Remind the usage the simple past tense: + Form: 
S +V (past) +.
S + DID+NOT +V(bare infinitive)..
DID +S + V(bare infinitive)..?
Examples:
•I played soccer.
•I didn’t play soccer.
•Did you play soccer?
- Have Ss recall it by using the dialogue.
- Let Ss work in pair to ask and answer about the activities in the table.
- Ask Ss to give the answers aloud.

- Set up the scene.
- Hang pictures on the board.
- Have Ss match right phrases to right pictures.
- Have SS write the things people did to prepare for the party (emphasize the simple past) individually.

Note: In case the verb is “TOBE”,we use “WERE” for all persons.
Examples:

→I wish I had a motor.
• I am not tall.
→I wish I were tall.
- Ask Ss to work in pairs and do the exercise 3 on page 12,using the simple past with “Wish”
