 Show the picture on page 66 and set the scene “ Trang has just won the first prize in the English speaking contest .What will her friends ,Mai say?And how will Trang respond?
- Give meanings of some words or phrases.

- Ex:Although there are many celebrations throughout the year,Tet ot Lunar New Year holiday is the most important celebration for Vietnamese people.
Ex: Although I was tired ,I still did exercise.
Ask Ss to remark the examples.
Give the conjunctions to express the concession “ although / though /even though : mặc dù”.

Set the scene: On new year’s Eve, many people in Western countries hold parties which last until late in to night. It’s traditional to greet the new year at midnight and celebrate the first minutes of the year in the company of friends and family people may dance ,sing and drink a toast to the year a head. The song Auld Lang Syne is often sung at midnight on New Year’s Eve .
-Give some new words.

Give definitions and ask Ss to match the definition with the words in new words

Divide Ss into some small groups .Each of the group is given a small piece of paper containing 10 important celebrations in Vietnam and the dates.The card is in two columns : Celebration and date

Set the scene :”Father’’s Day is the time when children show their feelings ,respect and great love to their fathers.”

-Ask some question about how to write a letter.
Set the scene: In VietNam people do not celebrate Mother’s Day or Father’s Day .You think it’s necessary to have a day to celebrate for your Mom or Dad. Write a letter to tell how to celebrate that Day. 
- Explain some new words .

Divide Ss into 6 groups and each group writes a paragraph.
Have Ss to write a letter after reading the outline on page 70.
4, Post- Writing: (10ms)
Ask them to wrap their letters, compare with their partner’s and correct .
Choose some letters to correct in class.
Ask Ss to ask and answer the reason to choose the date and how to celebrate the day.
The suggested letter:
In my opinion, it’s important to have a day to celebrate for our parents. Because on the occasion, children have a special day to express their feelings, memories, and great love for their parents. We have an opportunity to enhance family traditions. Besides, members of family can have a chance to get together, to know one another and to help one another.
I think first Sunday of April is the most suitable day to celebrate because Sunday is a day-off so everyone is free from work or study. Moreover, April is in late spring or early Summer and the weather is fine and at this time , many activities can happen out-door.
It is not necessary to have parties but it’s good idea to have a family gathering when members have lunch or dinner together. Children should give their parents flowers , send them cards or bring them a special cake. Children also should serve their parents the food they like best.
In conclusion, I believe the idea will be sported and the day will be celebrated nationwide because everyone loves their parents and wants their parents to be happy.
5, Homework: (3ms)
Ask Ss to write the letter in their notebooks and prepare part language focus.
