Objectives: * At the end of the lesson, Ss can talk about the development of “ ao dai” * Contents: + Vocabulary: take inspiration from, loose >< tight, minority, velvet, stripes, majority, a long silk tunic. + Grammar: V + er / or -> N * Skills: + Listen and read the text, complete the sentences and answer the questions. + Talk about the development of ‘ao dai’ and do exercises. B. Teaching aids: CD-Player C. Teaching procedures: Activities Contents I. Organization. (1’) - Greeting. - Checking attendance. II. Checking the old lesson. (4’) - Call one S to write 3 wishes. III. New lesson. (35’) 1. Presentation. - Ss look at the pictures of people wearing the traditional dresses of their country and describe where each people comes from. - Let Ss work in pair. - Call some speak out, suggest if necessary - Correct their mistakes. - Present some new words. - Give the meaning - Guide Ss read the new words. - Call some to check and correct. + Form of words: - Presentation the text. 2. Practice. - Set the scene. - Guess the answers to pre – questions. - Read the text. - Check their prediction. - Read the text again, read Ex a and complete the sentences. - Call some to go to the board and fill in the subboard. - Correct their mistakes. - Ss work in pair to ask and answer the questions in Ex b. 3. Production. - Ss work in groups of 4 , discuss and talk about the “ao dai” - Write it up. IV. Feedback. (3’) - Review the ways to answer the questions - Forming of the Noun. V. Homework. Complete the sentences: 1. .... poems, novels, and songs. 2. .... a long silk tunic with slits up the sides worn over loose pants. 3. ..... to wear modern clothing at work. 4. ..... lines of poetry on it. 5. ..... symbols such as suns, stars, crosses, and stripes. b. Answer the questions: #1. Traditionally, men and women used to wear the “ao dai”. #2. Because it is more convenient. *3. They have printed lines of poetry on it or have added symbols such as suns, stars, crosses, and stripes to “ ao dai”. * Discussion: - Where / When / Why women in VN like wearing the “ ao dai”. - The changes to the traditional ao dai.
