- Answer the question: What should you buy or do to prepare fo a typhoon?
- Introduce new lesson.
III/ New lesson: (35’)
1. Pre-listening:
- Ask Ss to read the request of listening then find out new words.
- Guide Ss to read all new words once.
- Call some Ss to check.
2. While- listening:
- Ask Ss to read the table carefully make more useful.
- An expect is giving a talk on how to live with earthquake.Listen to the talk then complete the table.
- Ss read the table carefully make some guesses for the missing words in the blanks.
- Play the tape several times if necessary.
- Ask Ss to compare their answers with a friend.
- Call on some Ss to read their answers aloud.
- Feedback and give correct answers
3. Post listening:
- Have Ss work in group and make a short presentation on how to live with earthquakes based on the information in the table .
- Call on some Ss to deliver the presentation in front of class .
- T may provide futher information on the topic, see supplements, comment and make correction if necessary.

If you live in an earthquake zone, you should take sometimes to look around your house. Place heavy books on the bottom shelf of your bookshelves . Block the rollers on your fridge and washing machine to prevent them from moving. Put hanging potted plant in plastic container check the mirrors in the bathroom and bedroom. Make sure they can’t move. Don’t put your bed next to the window. Planning where you are going to be during an earthquake is very important. The first thing to remember is to stay inside. Then you should sit under a strong table or doorway, or stand in the corner of the room.
