B. Teaching aids: CD- player. C. Teaching procedures: Activities Contents I/ Organization: (1’) + Who’s absent today? + What’s the date today? II/ Checking old lesson: (5’) - Play network. - Give correct answer. - Introduce the topic of the lesson. (We are going to identify specific information in a text by reading a text about holidays of some countries). III/ New lesson: (35’) 1. Presentation: - Use the pictures of the text to introduce the topic. - Play the tape then explain new words - Guide Ss to read new words. - Call Ss to read it. - Play the tape ask Ss to listen to the tape. - Ask Ss find out new words. - Explain & guide Ss to read new words. - Ask Ss find out new structures. - Give example: Tet is a festival which occurs in late January or early February. 2. Practice: - Have Ss read listen and read the passage about celebrations in VN and in other countries, and ask them to complete the table with 5 headings : celebrations, when , activities, food, countries. - Ask Ss to compare with a friend - Give correct answers. 3. Production: - Call some to translate the text into Vietnamese. - Show a subboard written an exercise. - Call some to go to the board and write. - Correct.
