A. Objectives:
* At the end of the lesson, Ss can practice writing a letter to their parents or friends about their visit to another part of the country or a different country.
* Contents: + Vocabulary: disappoited
 + Grammar: Review past simple, Wh-questions. 
* Skills: 
 + Know how to write a letter. 
 + Write a letter including visits to relatives / friends in distant places.

I. Organization. (1’)
- Greeting 
- Checking attendance.
II. Checking the old lesson. (4’)
- Call one S to read the text in ‘Read’ again. Then answer 2 questions
III. New lesson. (35’)
1. Pre - writing: 
- Guide Ss to play a game “Find someone who” about some landscapes in Viet Nam that they’ve visited.
- Introduce new lesson.
- Ask Ss: How many sections are there in a letter? What are they?
2. While-writing:
- Introduce the situation when they write the letter.
- Explain the requests from the task.
- Notice Ss about grammar used in the letter: past simple and present perfect tenses…
- Let the students read the frame.
- Ss work in pair to ask and answer the questions using the information given on the outline.
- Ss write their own letters, using the outline and suggested ideas of the teacher.
- Teacher manages, takes notes of typical mistakes and helps if necessary.
3. Post- writing: 
- Write the typical mistakes on the board and elicits the correction from Ss.
- Ss swap their writings and correct any mistakes if necessary.
IV. Feedback. (3’)
- Ask some Ss to read the letters before the class.
V. Homework. (2’)
- Practice writing at home.
- Do exercise 4, 8 in workbook.
- Prepare ‘Language focus’.
