A. Objectives:
* At the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to talk about life on the farm. Then complete the summary.
* Contents: 
 + Vocabulary: Exchange student, maize, work part time,…. 
 + Grammar: Review present simple tense.
* Skills: 
 + Read the text then match the words with word or phrase having the same meaning.
 + Complete the summary.
B. Teaching aids: CD- player, sub board.

I. Organization: (1’)
- Greeting.
- Checking the attendance.
II. Checking the old lesson: (3’)
- Call one write new words
- Play “Brainstorm”.
III. New lesson: (35’)
1. Pre-reading: 
- Read the text and get Ss to find out new words.
- Explain the meaning.
- Guide Ss to read after 2 times.
- Call Ss to read.
- Remark and get Ss to read them after again.
- Explain the new structure: The present perfect continuous tense
2. While-reading: 
- Read the text 2 times slowly and clearly then give the situations of it.
- Hang on the sub- board
- Get Ss to read the words and the sentences carefully then match A with B. 
- Call Ss to give out the ideas.
- Remark and give the right answers.
- Hang on the sub-board
- Get Ss to read the passage carefully then put the right words in the text into the blanks to complete the summary.
- Call Ss to read.
- Remark then give the correct the answers.
- Repeat the main contents of the lesson.
3. Post-reading: 
- Hang on the sub-board
- Ask Ss some questions about Van:
1. Where is Van now?
2. Who is he living with?
3. Where is the farm?
4. What do Mrs. and Mr. Parker do everyday?
5. How many children have they got?
6. What has Van leant since his arrival?
7. Does he like his stay there? Why?
8. What does he do every afternoon?
