I. Objectives

1. Knowledge: By the end of the lesson, students write a letter to a friend about a place they have visited.

a. Vocabulary: Related to “Wonders of the world”

b. Grammar: Review Simple Present, Simple Past, Present Perfect tenses.

2. Skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing

3. Attitude: Ss will be educated about protecting wonders of the world.

1. Teacher: lesson plane, book, color chalks, pictures, cassette and tape

2. Students: books, notebooks, pen, ruler

III. Teaching methods

- Techniques: Ask and answer, Work in pairs/ groups, Discuss.

1. Greeting and checking the attendance: 1’

2. Review of the previous lesson: 5’

+ Ss read the text (page 134) and write new words on the board: compile, claim, honor, god, religion, royal.

+ Ss may answer some questions:

I. Objectives

3. Attitude: Ss will be educated about protecting wonders of the world.

- T draws dashes on the board, each dash is for a letter of the world.
- T has Ss guess the letters, one by one.(For every wrong guess, draw a line (from 1 to 8)), Ss will lose the game if they guess wrong 8 times.

- T asks Ss to think of one of the wonders of the world and write it on a piece of paper.
- T calls on a student to the front of the class with his/ her paper.
- T has the rest of the class ask him/ her yes-no questions to guess the wonder.
- The student having the right guess will take the place of the last student.
* Warm up “Guessing game: Wonders of the world”
- T elicits new words.
- Ss pay attention to T, practice reading and guess the meanings of new words, then take notes.
* Vocabulary:

- Turn the passive sentences in language focus 1 into the active voice.
- Do exercise in workbook.
- Prepare: Review knowledge from unit 12 to unit 14.
