Previous : Rewrite the words 3. New words *Act 1 : warm up ( Matching and chatting ) To motivate Ss before starting the new lesson - Show four pictures on page 74 and ask students to match them with four words : snowstorm, earthquake, volcano, typhoon. *Act 2 : Pre-reading ( vocabulary ) T- whole class Pair work *Act 3 :While – reading *Task 1 : Check true or false : To help Ss improve reading skill Hang the poster of T/F statements on the board. Get students to work in pairs to guess which statements are true and which are false. Give feedback. Have students read the text on page 78 and check their prediction. Get students to correct false statements *Task 3 : Complete : To help Ss improve reading skill - Have students work in pair and complete the sentences in exercise 5b on page 79. Group work * Act 4 :Post –reading ( speaking ) To help Ss speaking skill Ask Ss practice the text Give feedback Asking and answering: Divide the class into four groups. Have students read the text again. Group 1 ask a question. Group 2, 3, 4, answer it Group 2 ask another question.
