Date of planning: 01/10/2013 Period : 28 Week : 10 Unit 5: THINGS I DO Section A : My day (5,6) I- Objectives: Competences: - Talk about their daily activities and ask whether they do the activities or not. - Simple Present tense Yes/No Questions and short answers to talk about daily routines. - Developing: four skills. II- Language content: Grammar: Structures: + Do you play soccer? -> Yes, I do. -> No, I don’t. (or) No, I don’t play soccer. Vocabulary: sport, soccer, volleyball, girl, boy III- Teaching aids: Text book, lesson plan, cassette tapes. IV- Procedure: 1. Warm up: Teacher’s activities Students’ activities Content - Ask students “matching” - Practice Watch Games Play Up Get School Do Music Listen to Television Go to Homework Presentation: - Introduce the situation. - Explain the new words and structure. - Play the tape for the SS. Then they repeat. - Explain about Yes/No questions. - Let them do some more further practice on “Yes/No” question. - Correct. - Listen. - Listen and write. - Listen and repeat. - Listen and practice “Yes/No question”. 5. Listen and repeat: New Words: - Volleyball (n): bóng chuyền - Soccer (n): bóng đá (A.E) - Football (n): bóng đá (B.E) (football trong tiếng anh Mỹ và canada dùng để chỉ môn bóng bầu dục, chơi tương tự như môn Rugby của Anh) - Sport (n): thể thao - girl (n): con gái - boy (n): con trai Structures: + Do you play soccer? -> Yes, I do. -> No, I don’t. Practice: - Do choral and individual repetition. - Ask the SS to work in pairs or in group. - Play the tape for the SS. - Let Ss practice how to answer about Yes/No questions. - Practice. - Listen. - Practice in pairs. 6. New Words: - classes start: giờ học bắt đầu - finish(v): giờ học hoàn thành/ kết thúc Practice: - Advise them to fill the table with the information they get from their friends. - Check whether they finish their work correctly or not and explain some more if necessary. - Let them work in pairs, talk to one another about their routine. - Choose one or two SS, then practice with them. - Complete the table with the information got from friends. - Do as the teacher’s requests. - Practice in pairs. 2.
