I. OBJECTIVES:
- By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to:
+ Read the dialogue between Mai and Lien.
+ Ask and answer about the frequency.

Week : 26 Date of preparation: 05/02/2015 Period: 76 Date of teaching: 09/02/2015 UNIT 12 : SPORTS AND PASTIMES SECTION A: WHAT ARE THEY DOING? LESSON 1: A1, 2, 3, 4, 5 I. OBJECTIVES: - By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to: + Introduce some sports. + Speak and write some sports that they play. II. PREPARATIONS: Textbook, pictures, cassetle III. PROCEDURES: TEACHER’S ACTIVITIES STUDENTS’ ACTIVITIES 1/ Warm-up: (8’) - Hang on some pictures, and ask Ss: What are they doing? - Observe, and answer the questions. 2/ Presentation: (10’) - Use the pictures to elicit some new words. I. Vocabulary: 1. play badminton (v) 2. play table tennis (v) 3. do aerobics (v) 4. skip (v) 5. jog (v) - Check vocabulary : “What and Where”. - Listen, guess meaning, then practice. - Do as directed. 3/ Practice: (15’) $ Activity 1: - Have Ss listen to the tape twice. - Correct their pronunciations and give some questions. II. Comprehension questions. a, What is he / she doing? b, What are they doing? $ Activity 2: - Have Ss listen, and repeat A3 - Ask Ss to answer the question: III. Practice: Which sports do you play? - Have Ss ask and answer in pair. - Read the sentenceone by one. - Work in pair. - Listen, and repeat. - Answer the questions, and write down. - Ask and answer. 4/ Production: (10’) - Ask Ss to read the texts, and answer the questions. IV. Read: Answer the questions. a. She swims, does aerobics, and plays badminton. b. No, she doesn’t. c. He plays soccer, jogs and plays table tennis. d. Yes, he does. - Read the texts, and answer. 5/ Homework: (2’) - Have Ss: + Learn by heart vocabulary, and “Remember”/p.126. + Do exercise A1,2,3/p.103,104 (workbook). - Write assignments. * Consolidation: Choose the best answer. 1. sports do you play? – I play volleyball. OBJECTIVES: - By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to tell some activities in the free time. II. PREPARATIONS: Textbook, pictures, cassetle III. PROCEDURES: TEACHER’S ACTIVITIES STUDENTS’ ACTIVITIES 1/ Warm-up: (5’) Kim’s game - Give some pictures. - Ask Ss to write down some activities they see. (no pictures) Ä Introduce the new lesson. - Observe. - Work in group. - Listen. 2/ Pre-writing: (15’) - Have Ss listen and repeat B1. I. Listen and repeat: What do you do in your free time? - Ask Ss to write down the answer. - Replace “I” by “Phuong, Ly, ”, and ask Ss to make question and answer. *Example exchange: S1: What does Phuong do in his free time? S2: He goes to the movie. - Listen, and repeat. - Write down the answer. - Make questions and answers. 3/ While-writing: (15’) - Introduce the requirement and ask Ss to work in pairs to change “I” to the name of people in the pictures. - Ask Ss to compare & give their writing. * Answer : Phuong goes to the movie. Ly watches TV Nam reads Lan listens to music. Tuan goes fishing. Long play video games. - Work in pairs to change “ I “ to the name of people in the pictures. - Compare and give their writing. 4/ Post-writing: (8’) - Introduce the requirement and ask Ss to work in individual to write 3 things about what they do in their free time , and put all their sentences together on a poster. - Ask Ss to report their information. - Comment. * Example: + Individual writing: ( Na writes ) I watch TV, I go fishing & I play football. ( Diu writes ) I watch TV, I go to the park & I play badminton. ( Uyen writes ) I listen to music, I play football & I watch TV. - Work in individual to write 3 things about what they do in their free time and putting all the sentences together on a poster. - Report the information. * Groups writing (poster). Na, Diu and Uyen watch Tv Na and Uyen play football Na goes fishing Diu goes to the park and play badminton Uyen listens to music 5/ Homework: (2’) - Have Ss learn the answer of “What do you do in your free time?” - Write assignment. * Consolidation: Choose the best answer. 1. How often does Ly go jogging? 2. How often does she listen to music? 3. How often does she read? $ Activity 2: - Ask Ss to look at Ly’s diary, then ask and answer in pair. - Call some pair to ask ans answer. - Listen. - Listen and read. - Answer the questions. 1.
