I. Warm up: Sing a song

II. New lesson:

4. Listen and tick

- Have pupils look at the pictures on page 41. Elicit the identification of the characters in the pictures and the characters’ words. Tell pupils that they are going to listen to the recording and tick the pictures they hear.

- Open the tape and listen the sound of the words

- Turn on the tape 2 times and ask Ss to listen and tick.

- Ask some questions to ensure pupils’ comprehension of the listening text.

- T give the answer: 1a 2c 3c

- Have pupils look at 6 pictures on Page 41. Get Ss to identify the characters in the pictures and what they are saying.

- Tell Ss that they are going to read and get information to write the missing words in dialogue sentences.

- Ss read silently and complete the dialogues.

Let’s play
- Introduce the game Simon says to pupils. Explain how the game is played
- Divide the class in 3 groups and ask Ss play the game in groups. Monitor the activity and offer help when necessary.
- When the time is up, call on some groups to demonstrate the game at the front of the class. The rest of the class observe and give comments.
- Have the whole class repeat all the sentences practiced to reinforce their pronunciation.
III. Consolidation
- Asking Ps to focus on the structure once again.

- Ask Ss to identify the characters in 2 pictures on page 42 and guess what they are saying. 
- Teach some new words:
may: xin phép
 can: có thể ≠ can’t = can not: không thể
 come in: vào trong
 go out: ra ngoài
+ Teacher read first as a model and ask the Ss to repeat
+ Have the Ss repeat in groups and individuals
- Open the tape and have the Ss listen the sound of the words.
- Play the recording a few times for pupils to listen and repeat. Do choral and individual repetition, pointing to the characters speaking
- Instruct Ss to translate the dialogue into Vietnamese.

- Have Ss look at the pictures on page 42
- Teach some new words:
 speak: nói
 write: viết
+ Teacher read first as a model and ask the Ss to repeat

- Have Ss trade the answers in pairs for correction
- Call on some Ss to report their answers. Others listen and comment.

Listen and repeat
- Focus Ps’ attention on the letters colored differently in the words come and down
- Introduce the sounds /k/ and /d/. 
- Open the tape and have the Ss listen the sound of the words.
- Play the recording a few times for pupils to listen and repeat. Do choral and individual repetition, pointing to the characters speaking
2. Listen and write
- Have pupils look at the sentences on page 44 and guess the suitable words to fill in the blank. 
- Play the recording 2 times pupils to listen and fill the blanks. 	
- Play the recording again pupils check their answers. 
Answers: 1. May I come in?
 2. Sit down, please.
3. Let’s sing
- Put the large piece of paper with the song “Come and sit down”, written on it and stick on the board. Tell pupils that they are going to sing the Song.
- Open the tape and have the Ss listen the sound of the words.
- Play the tape again for pupils to sing each line of the rhythm. Have pupils point to the corresponding words while they are repeating.
- Ask Ss to sing in choral
- Have Ss practice singing in groups.
- Call on one group to perform the song at the front of the class. The rest of the class sing the song and clap the rhythm.
- Have class sing the song again to reinforce their pronunciation.
