I. Objectives:

1. Knowledge:

- By the end of the lesson, students will have been able to ask and answer questions about someone’s hobbies.

2. Skills:

- Develop Ss speaking and listening skills.

3. Language focus:

 - Vocabulary: riding a bike, playing badminton, flying a kite, taking photos

- Structures: What’s your hobby? I like+ Verb-ing+( noun)

II. Teaching aids:

1. Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, pictures, cassette.

2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks.

I. Objectives:

- Develop Ss writing and listening skills

- Vocabulary and structures: Review 
- Structure: review
II. Teaching aids:
1. Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, pictures, cassette.
2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks.

I. Warm up: Read the “School, school, school!” chant
II. New lesson:
4. Read and complete
- T introduces the scene “you are going to read the card and fill the suitable words in the gaps, using the card cues
- Ask Ss to read the paragraph and do the task (fill in the blanks)
- Monitor the activity and offer help when necessary
- Have Ss trade the answers in pairs for correction
- Call on some Ss to report their answers. Others listen and comment.
- Make a few questions to check Ss’ comprehension of the sentences.
- Have the whole class read each sentence in chorus to reinforce their pronunciation

5. Write about your school
- Tell Ss that they are going to write a short paragraph about their school and their class.
- Have Ss work in pairs to discuss what they are going to write. Check comprehension.
- Ask Ss to do the task. T go around for help when they do the task independently.
- Get them to swap the answers before checking as a class.
- Ask Ss to read the answers aloud to the class. The others listen and give comments.

- Explain the task and check understanding.
- Ask Ss to make a card with 4 categories like in the book and decorate.
- Get them to interview one of their friends and write the information on the card and show it.
- Call on some Ss to show their cards and tell about their friends’ information. Give feedback.

2. Skills: 
- Develop Ss speaking and listening skills
3. Language focus:
- Vocabulary: swimming, cooking, collecting stamps, watching TV
- Structures: What do you like doing? I like + verb-ing +( noun)
II. Teaching aids:
1. Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, pictures, cassette.
2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks.

I. Warm up. Play the game “jumbled the letters”
II. New lesson:
1. Look, listen and repeat.
- Ask Ss to identify the characters in 4 pictures on page 46 and ask:
+ Who are the pupils? 
+ Where are they? 
+ And What are they talking about?
- Open the tape and listen the sound of the words.
- Play the recording a few times for pupils to listen and repeat. Do choral and individual repetition, pointing to the characters speaking
- Instruct Ss to translate the dialogue into Vietnamese.
2. Point and say
- Have Ps look at the book on page 46
- Teach some vocabularies:
 collect stamp: sưu tầm tem
+ Teacher read as a model and have the Ss repeat
+ Ask the Ss to repeat in groups, individuals
- Instruct how to ask and answer about the activities which a person like to do.
+ Ask: What do you like doing?
+ Answer: I like + V-ing + noun
- Ask Ss to practice in choral, in groups and in pairs.
- T remarks and give answer keys.

- Have the whole class to read aloud the answers on the board. Correct the pronunciation

II. Teaching aids:
1. Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, pictures, cassette.
2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks.

I. Warm up: Play the game “jumbled letters”
II. New lesson:
4. Listen and tick
- Have pupils look at the pictures on page 47. Elicit the identification of the characters in the pictures and the characters’ words. Tell pupils that they are going to listen to the recording and tick the pictures they hear. 
- Open the tape and listen the sound of the words
- Turn on the tape 2 times and ask Ss to listen and tick.
- Ask some questions to ensure pupils’ comprehension of the listening text.
- Answers: 1b 2c 3a
5. Look and write
- Have pupils look at 4 pictures on Page 47. Get Ss to identify the characters in the pictures.
- Tell Ss that they are going to read and get information to write the missing words in sentences.
- Ss read silently and complete the sentences.
- Ss trade their answers within pairs or groups for correction
- Ask Ss to read the answers aloud to the class. The others listen and give comments.
- Make some questions to check Ss’ comprehension of the reading text.
- Have the whole class read the sentences chorally to reinforce their pronunciation.

Let’s sing
- Put the large piece of paper with the song “I like doing things”, written on it and stick on the board. Tell pupils that they are going to sing the Song.
- Open the tape and have the Ss listen the sound of the words.
- Play the tape again for pupils to sing each line of the rhythm. Have pupils point to the corresponding words while they are repeating.
- Ask Ss to sing in choral
- Have Ss practice singing in groups.
- Call on one group to perform the song at the front of the class. The rest of the class sing the song and clap the rhythm.
- Have class sing the song again to reinforce their pronunciation.
III. Consolidation
- Asking Ps to focus on the structure once again.
- Retell the content of the lesson.
IV. Homework
- Do exercises in the workbook. Learn by heart the new words and structures.

- Ask them to work in pairs and ask and answer the questions: What do you like doing? What’s your hobby? 
- Call on a few pairs to role-play in front of the class. Correct pronunciation, if necessary.
