- Languages: Ss will be able to 
	+ use certain vocabulary items related to natural issue
	+ gain more knowledge about endangered nature
- Skills: Ss will be able to: 
+ develop the skill of guessing meaning of the words based on the context
+ improve reading skill such as skimming to get the main idea of each paragraph and scanning for specific information 
2. Assumed knowledge: 
- Ss have already had background knowledge about nature and some endangered animals
3. Anticipated problems: 
- Ss may notf know many vocabulary items related to nature -> T provides Ss necessity vocabulary.
- Ss don’t dsknow how to scan and get specific information -> T should give them instruction
4. Teaching aids: textbook, blackboard, PowerPoint, handouts.

Warm-up game:
Divide Ss into 4 groups. 
Give name for each group: Massupilami, cuckoo, tiger, monkey
Rule: Instead of raising their hand, students imitate the sound of their group’s animal to get a chance to answer questions. 
Let Ss watch a clip about 10 critically endangered species without taking note. After watching, T asks Ss write down 10 species mentioned in the clip (in 1 minute). With 1 correct answer, they will get 1 point. 
List of species: 
Ocelot: mèo rừng Nam Mĩ
Dugong: cá cúi
Harpy Eagle: đại bàng Harpy
Polar Bear: Gấu Bắc Cực
Scalloped Hammerhead Shark: cá mập đầu búa
Red Panda: gấu trúc
Great White Shark: Cá mập trắng
Tiger: hổ
Orca: cá hổ kình
Northern White Rhinoceros: tê giác trắng
Let Ss check other group’s answer. T announces each group’s points
Lead in: 
T: Class, tell me. The number of these animals, it becomes smaller or larger?
Ss: Smaller.
T: If we don’t protect them, what would happen?
T: They are going to disappear, right? In the other words, nature is in danger. It is also our topic today. 
Ss watch a clip and try to remember all species appearing in the clip.
Work in groups to write down as many as possible name of those species.
Ss exchange answers and mark for each other.

Task 2: Circle A, B, C or D that best sums up each paragraph
Ask Ss to read passage in 5 minutes and do task 2.
Instruct Ss how to find topic sentences which often stands at the beginning of each paragraph.
Let Ss volunteer to give the answer. Ss should also find out where the topic sentences are.
1 correct answer = 1 point

Task 3: Filling the chart to summarize the passage. (Appendix 1)
Each group receives main ideas extracted from the passage, which are numbered. They will discuss to decide position of each idea in the chart. After 3 minutes, representative of each group will write down numbers on the board equaling to position of ideas. With 1 correct position, they will receive 1 point.
Instruct Ss how to play the game
Give Ss answer keys.

Watch a clip: Michael Jackson - Earth Song 
Describe what you see and express your opinion. Each Ss volunteer to answer will receive 2 points.
Give instruction and some suggestion if necessary.
Suggestion:
What activities have you seen in the clip? Deforestation, war, hunts, etc.
 How do those people feel? They look at their surrounding environment and feel regretful for what they have done.
What is your opinion? Do you think we are connected to the environment? 
What would you do to protect our environment?
Sum up points and announce the winner. Give Ss awards to encourage their attributions.
Homework: Learn new vocabularies by heart.
 Write down what you have seen in Earth Song clip and express your own opinion. 
 Prepare for next part. 
Ss watch a clip and volunteer to speak in front of class.
Note down all requirements.
