I. OBJECTIVES: By the end of the lesson, ss will be able to listen to listen and know about a famous composer in Viet Nam as well as get specific information about Van Cao.

I.WARM- UP PICTURES
- T shows the pictures and asks ss some questions.
Who is the man in the picture?
What do you know about him?
Can you name some of his famous songs?
What is his most famous one?
- T calls on some ss to read and explain their answers aloud in front of the class.
- T gives feedback and corrects answers.
II. PRE-LISTENING
* Pre teach vocabulary: 
- T elicits and presents new words by situation and examples, then models and writes on the board.
- rousing (adj ) = sôi động (picture +explanation)
- lyrical (adj )= trữ tình (translation)
- gentle (adj ) = kind or tender. nhẹ nhàng (synonym)
- national anthem = quốc ca (translation) 
- pride à to be proud of = tự hào (về ) (translation) 
- T asks ss to write on the notebooks.

Except for Van Cao, Quang Hung doesn’t like any other Vietnamese musicians.
Quang Hung thinks some of Van Cao’s music is very sweet and gentle.
“Tien Quan Ca” the Vietnam National Anthem was written in 1954.
Quang Hung sometimes feels proud of his country, Vietnam, when he hears the song.
