C. Procedures
I. Warm up
- Review the old knowledge by asking some question.
II. New lesson:
1. Listen and circle a or b.
- Ask them to read the sentences and guess the answers.
- Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen. Play it again for them to do the
task.
- Get pupils to compare their answers before checking as a class.
2. Write about you.
Week 11 Teaching date: 30/11/2020 Period 37 UNIT 6. HOW MANY LESSON DO YOU HAVE TODAY? Lesson 1. Part 4-5-6 Object: After the lesson, students will be able to : Practise reading, writing and listening skills Teaching aids: Teaching aids: CD and picture. Resources: student’s book ( p.41) Procedures Warm up Play game: “Slap the board” Divide class into 3 groups and introduce the game for Ss Ask them to play Tell the winner. II.New lesson Listen and tick Ask them to read the names and lessons in the timetable. Then play the recording all the way through for them to listen. Play it again for them to do the task. Get Ss to compare their answers before checking as a class. Give explanations for answers which Ss find difficult. Play the recording again to confirm the answers. Read and complete. Tell the class that they are going to read the text and fll the gaps with Art, four, lessons, Wednesday and Tuesday. Give them a few seconds to read. Remind them to focus on the context to select the appropriate words from the box. Set a time limit for them to do the task independently. Get Ss to compare their answers in pairs before checking as a class. Let’s sing. Ask Ss to look at the activity. Play the recording all the way through for them to listen and follow in their books. Play it again for them to repeat line by line. When pupils are familiar with the melody, ask them to sing along with the music before having them practise doing actions. Invite a group to sing the song and do actions in front of the class. III. Part 1-2-3 Object: After the lesson, students will be able to : Ask and answer questions about how often someone has a subject, using How often do you have ...? I have it + frequency expression. Practise reading, speaking skills Teaching aids: Teaching aids: CD and picture. Resources: student’s book ( p.42) Procedures Warm up Sing a song: “How many lesson do you have today?” Divide class into 3 groups and each group sings a song. II.New lesson Look, listen and repeat. Look at the activity. Check comprehension by pointing at each picture to elicit their answers to some questions: What’s his/her name? Who is he/she talking with? What are they talking about? Play the recording all the way through for Ss to listen and follow in their books. Play it again for them to repeat the lines in the bubbles Ask Ss to work in pairs and play role. Lead to the structure: “How often do you have?-> I have Point and say Have Ss to look at the task. Explain the words under each picture and have pupils repeat them once or twice before practising the answers. Finally, point to each picture and say the question for the class to answer. Ask pupils to work in pairs. Monitor the activity and offer help, if necessary. Invite one or two pairs to perform the activity. Let’s talk Tell the class that they are going to practise further by asking and answering the questions in their books Ask Ss to imagine they are in different schools and give different answers. Tell them to make their own timetables before practising. Set a time limit for pupils to practise. Monitor the activity and offer help, if necessary. Part 1-2-3 Object: After the lesson, students will be able to : Say questions and answers with the correct sentence stress. Practise writing and listening skills Teaching aids: Teaching aids: CD and poster Resources: student’s book ( p.43) Procedures Warm up “Matching” Where will you go next week? What did you do yesterday? Where were you yesterday? How many lesson do you have today? How often do you have English? I have three: Maths, English and PE I danced. I have three times a week I was at home I don’t know I’ll go to Hue city. Divide class into three groups and ask them to match Call three leader of each group to write answer Check their answers and tell the winner. New lesson: Listen and repeat Tell the class that they are going to practise saying questions and answers with the correct sentence stress. Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen and follow in their books. Then play it again for them to repeat the sentences twice. Call some Ss to read and check their pronunciation. Listen and circle a or b. Then say the sentence aloud. Ask Ss to look at the task and guide how to do it Give them a few seconds to read the sentences in silence before playing the recording twice for them to do the task. Call some Ss to read answer and check. Let’s chant. Tell the class that they are going to say the chant How often do you have ...? Have them read the chant and check their comprehension. Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen and follow in their books. Play it again for them to repeat each line. Put the class into two groups to practise chanting the questions and answers respectively. Have them practise saying the chants and doing actions in groups.
