Lesson 3. ( part 4, 5, 6)

I. Objectives: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to practice futher on talking about school facilities through reading and writing.

* Teaching aids: pictures, word cards, extra board, cassette

II. Procedures:

1. Warm up:

- T calls some ss to recite the chant on page 50.

- The others listen and give feedback.

- T gives feedback and introduces new lesson.

2. Vocabulary

- Nice: đẹp (antonym)

- Music room: phòng âm nhạc (visual)

- Chat: trò chuyện (explanation)

- Do exercise: tập thể dục (explantion)

 *Checking vocabulary: what and where.

3. Read and match.

- T asks ss to open the book on page 51 and runs through.

- Set the sence: “you are going to read the sentences to get the information to match with the respond "

- 1st reading: Ss read the sentences individually and check their prediction.

- 2nd reading: Ss do the task.

- Monitor the activity and offer help when necessary.

- Have Ss trade the answers in pairs for correction.

- Call on some Ss to report their answers. Others listen and comment.

- Make a few questions to check Ss’ comprehension of the sentences.

- Have the whole class read each sentence in chorus to reinforce their pronunciation.

I. OBJECTIVES : By the end of this lesson, students will be able to practice futher on asking and answering questions about school facilities through listening and reading. 
* Resources: textbook, pictures, record, 
II. Procedure 
1. Warm-up: Brainstorm
Placeinschool

T introduces the game.
T devides class into 2 teams: A and B.
T controls- ss play.
t gives feedback.
T introduces new lesson.
2. Listen and number.
Have Ss open the book on page 49 and runs through.
Tell ss that they are going to listen and number the pictures. 
Play the recording two times to listen, do the task and check their answers.
Have Ss trade their answers in pairs for correction.
Play the recording again and give the correct answers.
Ask some questions to ensure Ss’ comprehension of the listening text.
Answers: 1b. ; 2d. ; 3a. ; 4c. . 	
3. Read and circle.
Have Ss look at the passage on page 49, part 2
T runs through and checks comprehension.
Set the scence: “ you are going to read the passage to get the information in order to circle the best answer.”
Ask Ss to read the passage and do the task.
Monitor the activity and offer help when necessary.
Have Ss trade the answers in pairs for correction.
Call on some Ss to report their answers. Others listen and comment.
T gives feedback.
Answers: 1. big; 2. small; 3. new; 4. big.
4. Write about your school: 
T runs through.
Ss read the questions and understand how to write the answer.
Give ss time to do the task.Go around to offer help, if necessary.
Have Ss trade the answers before checking as a class.
Call four ss to write their answers on the board, each writing the answer to one of the four questions.

I. OBJECTIVES: By the end of this lesson, students will be able to pronunciate the sound g, l.
Review how to ask and answer about school facilities.
Develop speaking skill.
* Resources: textbook, pictures, record, 
II. Procedure 
1. Warm-up: jumble words
	IGB:	big
	MLLAS:	small
	GMY:	gym
	SCHOOL:	school
T introduces the game board & write vocabulary at period lesson in different position.
T devides class into 2 teams: A & B.
T controls- ss play
t gives feedback.
T introduces new lesson.
2. Listen and repeat.
Have Ss open the book page 50, look at the words gym, look and notice the letter coloured differently in both words.
Produce the sound of the letter g in the word gym and l in the word look
g	gym	The gym is old.	
l	look	Look at the school.	
T plays the record for ss to listen twice.
T plays again for ss to repeat twice.
T asks ss to repeat and calls some ss to read.
T gives feedback.
3. Listen and write.
T runs through.
Ask Ss to say what they think about the blanks.
Play the recording all the way through for Ss to listen .
Ss write the words they hear.
Compare with their parners.
Keys: 1. gym; 2.look.
4. Let's chant.
T runs through.
Play the recording all the way through for Ss to listen while they are reading the chant in their books.
Ask ss to listen and repeat the chant some times
Call on a group of six: three of them to repeat each line of the chant, other three clap the syllables.
Have Ss practice the chant in groups and clap the syllables.
Monitor the activity and offer help when necessary/ correct typical pronunciation errors.
Call on a group to recite the chant. The others clap the syllables
Make a few questions to check Ss’ comprehension of language
Have the whole class recite the chant to reinforce their pronunciation.
Have Ss circle all the words containing the focused sounds Tony and yes in the chant

T devides class into 2 teams.

T gives feedback.

Set the scene “you are going to listen to Linda and robot talk about school things".
Play the recording and asks ss to listen to the tape twice.
T asks Ss to listen and repeat in chorus twice.
Call on some pairs. 
Have whole class repeat all the phrases a few times to reinforce their pronunciation.
T gives a situation to present (using picture).
T elicits the structures by asking Ss to speak out the model sentence:
This is my pen
That’s my rubber
Form: This/ That is my + name of school things
Use: to introduce about one's school things.
4. Point and say 
Have Ss look at the pictures(part 2)
T runs through.
T asks ss to work in pairs to practice the form
T models: 	This is my pencil
Monitor the activity, check the pronunciation ( sound, assimilation of sound and intonation) and offer help when necessary.
 - Call on some pairs to perform the task at the front of the class. Others observe and comment.
 - Make some questions to check Ss’ comprehension of language.
 - Have the whole class repeat all the phrases to reinforce their pronunciation.
5. Let's talk.
Have Ss look at the pictures on page 52 and identify the schoool things in the pictures. 
Fill in the speech bubbles with the correct phrases promted by Ss
	S1: This is my rubber	S1: That is my school bag.
	S2: Is it? 	S2: Is it?
 S1: Yes, it is	S1:Yes, it is
Have Ss to repeat the sentences a few times before let them practice freely. 
Have Ss to work in pairs to practice .
Call on a pair to demonstrate at the front of the class.
Have the whole class repeat all the phrases to reinforce their pronunciation
6.Homelink
Learn by heart vocabulary.
Practice the form.
