II. PREPARATION

Period 42: Lesson 1 (1, 2) I.OBJECTIVES - By the end of the lesson students will be able to ask and answer about what someone likes doing - Vocab: hobbies: swimming, cooking, collecting stamps, watching TV,... (V+ing) - Sentence patterns: What do you like doing? I like listening to music. - Main skills: spoken interaction, speaking II. PREPARATION - Computer, projector, speakers,... III. PROCEDURES Teacher’s activities Students’ activities 1.Warm - up (5’) - Guide sts play 2. Presentation (10’) -Tell pupils that they are going to learn to how to ask and answer questions about things someone likes doing. - Play the recording - Play the recording again (some times). - Go around and help Ss - Correct about the intonation, .... -Ask: Which sentence does T. ask P.? Which sentence does P. answer? 3. Pratice (15’) -Tell pupils that they are going to practice asking and answering questions about what someone likes doing, using What do you like doing? I like+verb-ing+( noun) - Have them look at the pictures to understand how the language is used in different contexts. Help Ss if they need - Point to the first picture and do the task with one pupil, using the expressions in the bubbles and the words under the picture. - Check as a class and correct pronunciation, if necessary. 4. Production (9’) - Tell pupils that they are going to practice asking and answer questions, using What do you like doing? Period 46: Lesson 3 (1, 2, 3) I.OBJECTIVES By the end of the lesson students will be able to catch the sounds of the letters fl and pl in the words flying and playing Vocab: hobbies (review) II. PREPARATION Recordings, computer, projector, speakers, a small ball... III. PROCEDURES Teacher’s activities Students’ activitives 1. Warm up (5’) - Let Ss make a tree or flowers with hobbies. Help Ss if they need 2. Presentation (8’) -Tell pupils that they are going to practise saying the sounds of the letters fl and pl in the words flying and playing respectively. - Play the recording and ask pupils to repeat a few times. - Put the letters fl and pl in the words flying and playing and the sentences I like flying a kite, He likes playing the piano on the board. - Play the recording a few more times and let pupils say the sentences, paying attention to the target sounds. 3. Pratice (15’) - Tell pupils that they are going to listen to five sentences with the sounds fl and pl in the words flying and playing and circle them. - Give pupils a few seconds - Check pupils’ understanding. - Play the recording - Play the recording again for them to check their answers. - Get pupils to say the sentences aloud Audio script: T’s book/64 Key: 1b 2a 3b 4a 4. Production (11’) - Tell pupils that they are going to say the chant Flying a little kite - Check comprehension. - Play the recording a few times for pupils to do choral and individual repetition. Show them how to chant and do actions. - Put them into groups of four. Get pairs or groups to sit opposite of each other and practice chanting and doing actions. Go around offering help, if necessary. - Call two groups of pupils to the front of the class to chant and do actions. PREPARATION Task-sheets, candy wsappers, computer, projector, small boards... III. PROCEDURES Teacher’s activities Student’s activities 1. Warmer (3’) - Let Ss chant 2. Pre- writing (10') - Get Ss to read the text and focus on the information to complete the passage. - Go around to help - Compare with the keys Key: 1, nine 2, correcting stamps and taking photos 3, playing chess 4, a penfriend 3. While- writing(15') - Tell Ss that they are going to write a short paragraph about their school and their class. - Check comprehension. - Go around for help when they do the task independently. - Get them to swap the writings before checking as a class. 4. Post- writing(5') - Explain the task: they are going to collect things that they like, show them to their classmates on next lesson and talk about their hobby: I like......... I have......... They are....... and check understanding. 5. Homelink(1') - Learn all the unit and do homework in the workbook. - Chant: Flying a little kite 4. Read and complete - Read the passage and find appropriate information from the text to fill the gaps. (Work in group) - Some pairs ask and answer some questions in front of class: What is her name?
