Lesson 3 (1, 2, 3 p.23) Objectives: By the end of this lesson, students can improve their listening skill and pronounce the phonics “f – beef, leaf; sh – fish, dish”. Materials: Pictures, textbook, posters, CDs Procedure: Time Content T’s and ss’ activities 5’ I. Warm-up: play game “Bean bag circle” - T gives a bear for class and introduces the rule of game + T plays music, sts pass bear around the classroom. + T stops music, st hold bear asks the question and their pair answers the question. + T shows any pictures of 5 pictures and sts hold bear ask and answer the question of these pictures. - Sts listen and play this game. 10’ 10’ 8’ II. Let’s chant: “ Would you like some fish” - T elicits activity for ss and introduces phonics “f and sh”. - T models and asks ss repeat. - Ss repeat in chorus. - Then T plays CD 2 times and asks ss listen carefully and repeat. - Ss listen and repeat. - T calls some Ss read aload. - Ss give feedback. - T asks Ss find out words with “f, sh” at the beginning. - T asks Ss listen and repeat. - T sets the scene activity on page 22. - T divides class into 2 groups (boy and girl). - T asks each group to guess the answer. - Ss discuss and predict. - T plays CD 2 times and asks ss listen and tick. - Ss share and tell answer. - Ss listen again for checking prediction and give feedback. - T asks Ss work in pairs to practice. - Ss practice in pairs. - T calls some pair read aloud. - Ss give feedback. - T reads the lyrics – Ss repeat in chorus. - Ss listen twice and chant in chorus. - T calls some ss chant in front of class. 2’ III.
