Đề kiểm tra 1 tiết môn Tiếng Anh 8 (Học kì II)

IV . Read the letter. Decide whether the following statements are true (T) or fasle (F). (3 p)

 Dear John,

I’m very happy to receive your letter telling me that you are going to visit Ho Chi Minh City, Vientaine and Bangkok this summer. You don’t have time to visit Ha Noi again, do you? Would you like me to tell you something about Ho Chi Minh City before you go? Well, Ho Chi Minh City is a very large city with many places worth seeing. However, you can stay there only a few days so I strongly recommend that you should visit the following places.

First, I think you should visit Nha Rong Port where our great leader, Uncle Ho, left the country to seek a way to free the country from being ruled by the French colonists. Then you could tour the Reunification Palace, which always attracts lots of visitors due to its magnificent architecture. The Cu Chi Tunnels will certainly amaze you with its hundreds of kilometres of underground defense works used during the war. Finally, the Vinh Nghiem Pagoda and The Duc Ba Cathedral, with their special atmosphere of peace and dignity, will probably complete your tour. I wish you would have a very nice holiday.

 Remember me to your parents.

 Yours dearly,

 Lan
