Lesson 1:
OBJECTIVES
By the end of the lesson, students will be able to ask and answer questions about someone’s name.

Warm up (3mns)
Ask students to sing the song “how are you”.
New lesson
Look, listen and repeat (5mns)
Ask students look at the picture and answer the question: “who are they?”
Read aloud this dialogue and have students repeat.
Call on some students to read it individually and correct if necessary.
Look and say (7mns).
Set the context: imagine you know a new friend, what things will you do?
Introduce the way of asking and answering questions about someone’s name.
What’s your name?
My name is _______.
Give an example for students:
What’s your name?
My name is Hoa
Make a model with a good student.
Ask students to work in pairs and do task 2: ask and answer questions about someone’s name.
Call on some pairs to practice and correct if necessary.

Have students work in pairs to play roles in the task and do the task. 
Call on some pairs to practice.
Let’s sing (5mns)
Play the recording of the song “what is your name?” twice then ask students to sing the song.
Sing the song.
Look at the picture and answer the question: “they are Tom and Linda”.
Listen to the teacher and repeat.

Listen to the teacher and think of things they will do when they meet a new friend such as greeting, asking name, asking school they have gone to.
