Lesson 4: WRITE 
I. OBJECTIVES:
1. Educational aims: Help Ss know how to show their feelings, love to their father on Father’s Day, Mother’s Day.
2. Teaching aims: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to practice writing a letter to a friend to share their ideas
II. PREPARATIONS: book, extra – board
III. PROCEDURES:

1. Warm - up (5’)
- Have Ss play “Networks”
Celebrations

- Group work.
2. Pre - writing (12’)
- Have Ss answer some questions
1. Which celebrations is not celebrated in Viet Nam?
2. Do you think it is necessary to celebrated in Viet Nam? 
- Explain some new words:
+ enhance (v)
+ support (n)
+ have a day off (v)
+ nationwide (adj)
- Introduce the format of the letter.
Part 1: tell your friends the reason for celebration this day.
Part 2: give details.
Part 3: state whether or not you think your idea will be supported and you hope the day will be celebrated nationwide.
- Have Ss look at the cues and answer the questions
- Answer.
- Write down.
- Listen and write.
3. While - writing (18’)
- Have Ss write to a friend and tell him or her why they want to celebrate father’s Day in Viet Nam
- Have Ss compare with their partner.
Suggested idea:
 According to me, it’s essential to celebrate this day for our father.
 On this day we can express our feelings, memories and love for our father. This’s an opportunity to enhance family traditions.
 I think we should celebrate onWe can give presents and cards to our fathers.
 I think it’s not necessary to have a party but we should prepare food that our father likes best.
 I hope my idea will be supported and the day will be celebrated nationwide because everybody loves our father.

4. Post - writing (8’)
- Have Ss do survey:
Do you have big family gatherings?
What do you do when you get together?
Do you often take friends out to have dinner?
- Call some pairs to practice in front of class.

- Have Ss write a letter in their notebook
