I- The aims of the lesson: To help ss with reading the dialoguage to understand 
 about the life in the past to compare with our nowaday life.

II- The objective of the lesson:
 - By the end of the lesson, ss will be able to know the differences between the 
 life in the past and now. & they will be able to tell the activities people used to

 - To help ss speak about the way things used to be and the way they
 are now, listen and further practice in past simple tense.

 * Grammar: Simple past, used to + V
 * Skills: - Main skills: speaking & listening.
 - Other skills: reading & writing.	
II- The objective of the lesson:
 - By the end of the lesson, ss will be able to know how to use the
 simple past tense and use the structure “used to + V” to talk about 
 the things they used to do.
III- Teaching aids: A cassette and tape.
IV- Procedures: 
 1. Check up (5’) - The words. - Retell about Nga’s grandma’s life.
 2. Warm up (2’) + Jumbled words:

 - Asks to look at the pictures and describe what they see in the pics.

 past and nowaday’s. Call some students to speak out in the class.

 and buildings.
 People used to walk to travel. Now they can go by car
 or motobike.
 There didn’t use (usedn’t) to be electricity in the home. Now 
 there is electricity everywhere.

 Tape transcript: 
 Once a farmer lived a comfortable life with his family. His chicken laid many eggs which the farmer used to sell to buy food and clothing for his family.
 One day, he went to collect the eggs and discovered one of the chicken had laid a golden egg. He shouted excitedly to his wife, 
“ We’re rich! We’re rich!”
 His wife ran to him and they both looked the egg in amazement. The wife wanted more, so her husband decided to cut open all the chickens and find more golden eggs. Unfortunately, he couldn’t find any eggs. When he had finished, all the chicken were dead.
 There are no more eggs of any kind for the foolish farmer and his greedy wife.
 * Post - listening: Retell.

 One day, as I was in the field and my buffalo was grazing 
 nearby, a tiger came. It asked why the strong buffalo was my 
 survant and why I was its master. I told the tiger that I had 
 something called wisdom. The tiger wanted tosee it, but I left the 
 wisdom at home (that day). Then I tied the tiger to a tree with a 
 rope because I didn’t want it to eat my buffalo. I went to get some 
 straw that I said was my wisdom and I burned the tiger. The tiger 
 escaped, but today it still has black stripes from the burns.
 6. Post- writing (10’)
 - Correction: The groups hang their story on the board. Others 
 remark and mark.
 - Ss work in groups to retell the story: Ss imagine to be a buffalo or a 
 tiger to retell the story.
