I. OBJECTIVES:
Teaching aim: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to talk about their favorite weather, review vocabulary about weather and seasons.
II. PREPARATIONS: Book, cassette tape
Week: 28 Date of preparing: 08/ 03/ 2015 Period: 82 Date of teaching: 10/ 03/ 2015 UNIT 13: ACTIVITIES AND THE SEASONS Section A: THE WEATHER AND SEASONS Lesson 1: A1- 2 I. OBJECTIVES: Educational aim: Help Ss talk about the seasons and the weather they like. Teaching aim: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to use “What’s the weather like ?” to talk about favorite seasons and weather. II. PREPARATIONS: Book, pictures, cassette tape III. PROCEDURES: Teacher’s activities Students’ activities 1.Warm - up: (5’) Ask Ss to play game “Jumbled words” - oht = hot - codl = cold - like = like - whta = what 2. Presentation: (15’) - Have Ss look at the pictures. - Introduce the new words: 1. spring (n) 2. summer (n) 3. fall (n) = autumn 4.winter (n) 5. seasons (n) 6. weather (n) 7. warm (adj) 8. cool (adj) 9. like (pre) - Ask Ss practice the new words. - Ask Ss to read the sentences in A1 on page 134 to isolate the model sentences: + What’s the weather like in the summer? à It’s hot ( in the summer). What’s the weather like ? It’s . . . 3. Practice: (20’) - Ask Ss to look at the picture. - Say the model sentences. + What’s the weather like in the summer? à It’s hot in the summer. - Have Ss practice. - Correct their mistakes. 4. Consolidation: (3’) Have Ss give “Networks” Weather Seasons 5. Homework: (2’) - Ask Ss to learn seasons vocabulary and how to talk about their favorite weather. Prepare Unit 13: A3/ p. 135 Play game - Look at the picture. - Listen to the teacher. - Repeat after the teacher. - Read the sentences to isolate the model sentences: - Look at the picture. - Listen to the teacher. - Practice in pairs. - Some pairs practice in front. OBJECTIVES: Teaching aim: By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to use “Wh – questions” to ask and answer about activities in each season fluently. PREPARATIONS: Book, cassette tape III. PROCEDURES: Teacher’s activities Students’ activities 1. Warm - up: (5’) Ask Ss to play game “Brainstorm” 1. What do you do on the weekend? →I . 2. What weather do you like? → I . 2. Presentation: (13’) - Review vocabulary about weather and seasons. - Have Ss to look at the picture, review activities in free time. - Let Ss read the text carefully. - Introduce structure: What + do /does + S+ do + when it’s.? When it’s, S + V.. Ex: What does Ba do when it’s hot? → He go swimming when it’s hot. 3. Practice: (15’) - Say the model sentences. What do you do when it’s cold? à I go jogging when it’s cold. - Have Ss practice in pairs. - cold / go jogging - cool / do aerobics - hot / go swimming - warm / go to the park - Call some Ss to practice in front of class. 4. Production: (10’) - Get Ss to change the text about Ba and write about themselves. - Have Ss write about what their partners do in different weather. a.
